wwnytv.com Sr. Marie Cordata Kelly, 80, Sisters of St. Joseph passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Rochester General Hospital.

[03/14/19]   We know and feel that St Mary’s Academy is still so special in our hearts.
Why is that, you ask?
For me, because there was chaos in my life as a child, this was a safe place, where I was loved and accepted for who I was and given a chance to grow into the best I could be with God’s guidance.

Sister Cordata and the teachers/staff got that. Thank you so much!!

What a great way to remember / celebrate St Mary's Academy!!!

[02/10/15]   Celebrate St. Mary's Academy!!!

Today while getting my car repaired, Ron, who graduated from the high school in 1967 said "It is such a shame that the school burned down, it touched the hearts of so many people! When I win the $450 million dollar Powerball lottery next week, I will rebuild that school 10 times over with my winnings!"

Thank you Ron for celebrating St. Mary's Academy!!!

[02/03/15]   Celebrate St. Mary's Academy!!!

Last night, three strangers showed up in the same restaurant in Chazy, NY, but they were not strangers, they all had St. Mary's Academy in common and remembered the wonderful time there.

One person had gone there till Grade 6 and is now an elementary school teacher in the area. She remembered Sister Mary Ann as principal.

The second had graduated in 1961 from St. Mary's Academy when it was a high school!

The third had seen his children graduate from St. Mary's Academy less than 10 years ago.

All had nothing but fond and great memories about St Mary's Academy.

What a wonder place and such a positive impact on so many lives!!!

Celebrate St. Mary's Academy!!!

[01/17/15]   It is with great sadness that we learn that there was a major fire at St Mary's Academy school building in Champlain, NY that started just before 7 PM on Friday January 16, 2015.

Our hearts are heavy as we remember how important this school was to our lives. People from all over were influenced in such a positive way in this building for over 100 years as students, teachers (including nuns and priests), administration, parents, families and the community.

Please feel free to express your thoughts.

[07/10/13]   It is with sadness that we learned that Father Delbel passed away this morning. Please keep him in your prayers, for the love and dedication he showed through is years at St Mary's Church. God's Blessings Father and thank you for your dedication!

St Mary's Annual Bazaar which started on Saturday will be extended until Monday afternoon this year to account for the rain All events planned for Sunday are still taking place as scheduled

Let's show our support and love for St Mary's!!!

[10/23/12]   Loving and forgiving...

These are the two essential things that were heard as part of a sermon recently. We are here on earth to love and to forgive.

I know these things take time and hopefully those who felt devastated by the closing of St Mary's Academy, can move forward in the healing process and start working on "forgiving". If forgiving is too difficult, just wish onto others what you wish for yourself.

As Sister Cordata says, "Let it go. Otherwise, it will eat you up."

God's blessings!

[09/06/12]   September 6, 2012 marks the first time in over 100 years that St Mary's Academy will not be welcoming students for the new school year. Please keep the children who will not live the miracle of this school in your heart and prayers. God's blessings.

[07/19/12]   There will be a meeting tonight, July 19th at 6:30 PM, to discuss a new Catholic K - 6 school in the area. The goal of the meeting is to confirm people's interest and intent relating to enrollment and funding. The meeting will take place at the Presbeterian church in Chazy, NY about 10 minutes south (driving) of St Mary's Academy. Take US Route 9 South from Champlain to the town of Chazy. Turn left on Miner Farm road. The church is on the left at 620 Miner Farm Road across the street from the Chazy Central Rural School. The meeting should take about an hour. All who are interested are welcome.

[07/11/12]   How much would you give as a donation to keep St Mary's Academy open? Would you give that money to help open a charter school for September if St Mary's Church refuses to let us open? Father Delbel said that if we raised $1,000,000 (One million dollars), we could keep the school open. Let us know how you could help?

[07/07/12]   Let's remember that tremendous school, faith, education and love that has been St Mary's Academy for over 100 years. In each of our hearts are memories and life lessons that we learned by being part of this school. Let's celebrate the dedication of the principal, faculty, parents and community in making this experience possible for the children. Thank you and God Bless!!!
