Counselor Spotlight #3! Miss Zoe is a bright light! She is warm, so good with the kiddos, quick to jump in and lead and always has a smile on her face. Her joy is infectious and we are so glad to have her on our team!!!

Welcome Miss Zoe!

Hi! My name is Zoe Ruhlig! I just finished my first year of college studying early education and being a teacher’s aid at Judah Christian school. I’ve loved working with children for a long time now! From day camps to babysitting most of the jobs I have worked have been centered around children so I am thrilled to continue that here at CU Create! I’m so excited to spend a summer with some of your kiddos and also get an opportunity to be creative! When I’m not working I’m usually going on walks and runs or hanging out with friends! That’s just a little bit about me, hope to get to know you all more!

My next counselor spotlight goes to Miss Peighton! She is one of two counselors I have this summer that used to come to my camp when they were little. I am so happy to have her on the CU Create team!

Welcome Miss Peighton!

HI!!! My name is Peighton Joines, and I’m 16 years old. I’ll be a junior at Judah Christian School next year. I participate in volleyball, basketball, archery, and cheer, and I also love being involved in band and choir. I’m a student council representative and enjoy acting in our school plays. In my free time, I love reading books, doing arts and crafts, and listening to and singing music. If I’m not busy with one of my hobbies, you’ll probably find me with a coffee in hand. I absolutely love coffee! My favorite color is pink.
I also love working with kids. Last school year, I was a teacher’s assistant, and it was an experience I truly enjoyed.

I have an AMAZING group of counselors helping at CU Create this summer!!! I want to highlight our team and share a little about who your kiddos are spending their days with at CU Create!

If you’ve been around a while, you know I used to have just one super consistent helper (besides my mom)…. Miss Katelyn worked for me for over 5 years. We miss her dearly, but she grew up, got married, and is now a mommy to the sweetest little baby girl!!! During past summers her sisters helped as needed, but THIS summer they are among my core team.

First highlight: Miss Anna!

Hi, I'm Anna! I recently graduated from high school and have helped at CU Create on and off for a few years, following in my sister's footsteps through our shared love of kids and art.

Ever since I was very young, you could always find me building something—whether it was with Legos, puzzles, or just sticks in my backyard. It's fascinating to see myself in some of the kids as they put so much work and creativity into their projects.

A few things I enjoy doing in my free time (other than art) are reading, playing volleyball, listening to music, spending time with friends, and going on walks.

I am so excited for this summer and the opportunity to let out my creative, fun side while making the kids laugh. I'm also looking forward to all the art projects to come!

Week 1: Hello Summer! This week was all about celebrating summer through imagination, hands-on creativity, and playful artistic exploration. We explored color, texture, and mixed media while creating summer-themed artwork featuring waves, sea life, the ocean, and all things beachy! What an amazing way to kick off summer 2026!

We have been BEYOND BUSY!!! I had a kid experience her first theatrical experience… and that was the weekend that started my 2026 summer season… around her plays, we had a birthday party (this post).

Then we rolled right into Summer Camp. I will post week 1 and 2 highlights as soon as I’m able!

This week CU Create is going to the beach!!!
