Last night we saw CUTC'S production of Sister Act the Musical at parkland College Theatre. My student Kelly was Sister Mary Robert and my student Bess was mob boss Curtis Jackson. Bess sang very well but her acting, dancing and overall character were outstanding. She had us laughing every time she was on stage.
Kelly sang brilliantly but halfway through the reprise of her big song "The Life I Never Led", her mic died. She moved a little further downstage, took a breath and sang! She supported her voice and we heard every note even over the drums, guitar and horns in the pit orchestra.
My students are the best.

Hello everyone! My name is Kelly Hong, and I will be playing the roles of Sister Mary Robert and Tina in CUTC’s Sister Act. What I love about Mary Robert is that she is very shy at first, but later on she discovers herself, and is bright and bold.
