C-U Martial Arts Club

So incredibly proud of the Young Tigers who tested on Monday!!! They definitely brought their A Game and despite being a little nervous really knocked it out of the park. Besides doing amazing with the testing material they absolutely crushed the bonus material!!! Congratulations to our new Red Tigers Thaddeus and Dillon!!! Keep up the hard work and keep making good things happen!!!

Excited for tonight's Young Tigers class as well have two students testing for their Red Tiger rank. They worked incredibly hard and truly earned their promotions! So very proud of Thaddeus and Dillon and look forward to continue seeing them grow within the program. Always making good things happen!!!

We have a new session for the Young Tigers Martial Arts Program beginning at 6pm at Savoy Recreation Center! Students get the opportunity to experience the basics and attributes development of five Martial Arts: Kali, Pencak Silat, Wing Chun, Baguazhang and Xingyiquan. We also help students develop self-respect, self-discipline and respect for others. We give them an introduction to different languages as well as stories and legends associated with the arts. Come join us for class every Monday and Wednesday at Savoy Recreation Center from 6pm to 7pm and let's make good things happen!!!

New sessions are beginning soon at Savoy Recreation Center with the new Young Tigers session beginning tomorrow April 1st and the new session for the Defensor Method Kali-Silat class starting April 2nd. We also have a new session for the Health Within class beginning April 7th. Let's make good things happen!!!

Worked with the Young Tigers tonight for a makeup class and I was really impressed. They worked on a Wing Chun "Monkey Trap" counter for a Lap Sao/Punch out of a Lap Sao Drill/Pak Sao Drill/Hubad Lubad/Parry-Parry-Check. They did fantastic especially since they are 8 and 9 years old!!! Making good things happen!!!

Looking forward to tonight's Young Tigers class as we continue to review for May's Testing/Demo. Really proud of the hard work our young students have put and we are going to ride that momentum forward into the Phase II of the program.

Young Tigers Martial Arts Program

Our Young Tigers Martial Arts Program is designed to teach the basics of five different Martial Arts (Kali/Pencak Silat/Wing Chun/Baguazhang/Xingyiquan). The purpose is to give younger students the opportunity to experience different styles and get a feel for what system they vibe with the most if they want to continue their Martial Arts journey after completion of the program. They also see that even if they may not excel at one there are always others that they may be great at. The program is designed to help them develop self-confidence, self-discipline and self-respect as well as respect for others. The program also gives an introduction to different languages as well as backgrounds, stories and legends associated with the arts to create a more engaging experience for students.

Had a good Health Within class last evening and we are going to continue riding this week's momentum into today's Young Tigers class where the focus will be on Panantukan/Sikaran covering boxing combos/kicks along with footwork for the first half of class and Pencak Silat Jurus for the second half of class. Be ready to make good things happen beginning at 6:30pm!!!
