Life Drawing Club at UIUC

Hey everyone!

We will be starting a discord drawing event today (Friday 11/27) at 5pm CT that is essentially Telestrations (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telestrations) but with a spin. The event will last three days or however many needed for everyone to complete their sketches. As mentioned before there will be a list of participants pinned to our "drawing-event" channel on our club Discord server. Everyone will start with an original sketch then send their sketch to the person listed after them via direct message. When you receive a sketch you redraw it in your own style then send it, again, to the person listed after you. This process continues until you've received a version of your original sketch. If you plan on participating in this event please fill out the google doc that i've attached below. I've also attached a link to our club server on Discord. Hey guys,

Seeing as we haven't been having sessions due to the weather, they will be paused for now. It will only be getting colder, so the plan is to resume sessions next semester once the weather gets warmer. We are planning some online activities using Discord; once we figure everything out I'll send another post with the details.

Sorry for short notice but we will be starting up again tomorrow! Same place on the little mound west of the south quad clock tower. Feel free to bring lawn chairs or blankets to make yourselves comfy. We will try to squeeze as many sessions as possible before it gets too cold to meet!

As a reminder, we are meeting from 4-5pm with fully clothed models. Everyone must maintain 6ft of distance and keep their mask on at all times within our small gathering.

Hi drawers, I am sad to announce that we will be ceasing weekly meetings until the school announces that it is safe to meet up again. Hopefully, this will only be for two weeks. Throwback to 8 to Create! Missing the pre-covid times...

Hi Life Drawers! I hope everyone has been staying safe and doing well during the first official week of the semester. We will be having our first session this Monday 8/31. Due to COVID, these will be shortened sessions (requiring facemasks + social distancing) from 4pm-5pm on the south quad! Get ready for some clothing fold practice!

Hi everyone, due to the university move to online courses we will no longer hold weekly meetings for the time being. The portrait drawing event has been effectively cancelled by the rso office. That being said, we are waiting on administration for the next steps of Figuration. If I could request all artists who submitted art to either email or DM us to let us know whether they will be on campus or not that would be great! We will most likely resume once class is moved back to campus. Thank you for everyone that has been coming to Life Drawing thus far!!

EDIT: We are sorry to announce that Figuration has been cancelled for the spring semester. Thanks to everyone who has submitted art, we will try hosting the event again once things get back to normal!

Hi y'all, no session today! cya next Monday!!!

Hi guys! sorry it's been a hot minute since our weekly updates. Just wanted to take a minute to acknowledge Figuration which is our yearly gallery. We are now accepting submissions and the registration link is posted under events. We will also talk about it during the club meeting tonight.

As usual we will be in room 209 in the A+D building from 7-9pm. Hope to see ya there!
