The Principal's Scholars Program is excited to offer a FREE 4-day College Essay Writing Workshop specifically for high school seniors (current juniors) to help them get ahead on their college applications. This workshop will provide step-by-step guidance through the writing and revision processes in a supportive, collaborative, and fun environment designed to reduce writing anxiety. Students will learn proven strategies to strengthen their essays from University faculty and staff to help set themselves up for success in the 2026-2027 application cycle.

Education for Employment System #330 is offering the 2026 Summer Construction Program at Parkland College for incoming high school juniors and seniors. Students will learn construction-related skills through the construction of various projects, visits to trade unions, and
post-secondary opportunities including how to apply for an apprenticeship. Upon completion, students will earn a $400 educational stipend and high school credit.
Dates of the program are June 8th-June 25th from 8:00 AM-2:00 PM (Monday-Thursdays).
All applications are due back to your counselor by April 10, 2026 @ 3:00 PM.

Interested in computer science? The University of Illinois is hosting their 11th CS Sail event. This is a two day, completely free event on April 18th in person on campus and April 19th completely virtual.
Students can attend CS-related classes, discover new and interesting clubs, explore campus through fun games, and hear firsthand from current students about their experiences.
