Since earning her MBA in 2022, Maria Jacob has continued to grow as a technology and business leader, now serving as IT Service Delivery Manager at OMRON Automation Americas. Here’s what Maria had to say about the impact of the Gies iMBA on her career:
“The Gies iMBA played a transformative role in shaping my career and leadership path...What truly set the experience apart was the opportunity to collaborate with a global cohort of professionals across IT, Finance, and Entrepreneurship. Those diverse perspectives elevated every project and discussion.
The Gies experience equipped me to embrace AI and thrive in a rapidly evolving industry. I’m grateful for the community, the learning, and the opportunities it continues to unlock.”

was proud to exhibit at the Women in Business Conference hosted by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce at Northern Illinois University’s Naperville Campus.
With more than 200 professionals in attendance, this year’s theme, “Strong Women,” inspired meaningful discussions and valuable insights across a range of topics, including negotiation strategies, AI in the workforce, mental health, leadership, and cultivating a growth mindset.
The conference provided an excellent opportunity to connect with business leaders, professionals, and organizations, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities related to leadership development, workforce advancement, and flexible learning.
As always, Gies was well represented, with Lucy Evans, Shaza Sanaullah, Maria Frolova, and Thao Nguyen proudly engaging with attendees and sharing the impact of Gies College of Business. We were honored to be part of such an inspiring event!

Last month, Gies Online learners made their mark at the 2026 Cozad New Venture Challenge 🚀
Five teams from our online programs stepped into Illinois’ largest venture creation competition—proving that all it takes is an idea to get started. From there, they refined their concepts with hands-on mentoring, funding opportunities, and real-world skill building.
We’re so proud of the innovation, drive, and creativity these teams brought to the challenge. A big thank you to everyone who participated and pushed their ideas forward!
