The Franklin County Commissioners have recognized April 2025 as the Month of the Young Child. In doing so, the commissioners join First Start Partnerships for Children and Families and other area organizations in highlighting the crucial role early childhood educators play in the healthy development of America’s youth.

“As a community, it’s important that all of us do our part to care and support our children, especially in their formative years,” said Franklin County Commissioner Chairman Dean Horst. “It’s cliché – but true – to say that our children are the future of Franklin County. For that reason, it’s critical that we advocate for solid educational footing early in their lives as well as capable, qualified educators to ensure these kids get the best possible start to their lives.”
