Sign up to be a volunteer tutor and become an everyday hero for adult learners! Our volunteer tutors support adult learners by providing instruction for basic reading, writing, math, English, and other literacy skills. We currently have over 40 students on our waitlist who are waiting for us to have the space to serve them. The more volunteers we have, the more we can expand our services.

This September, adult learners, educators, administrators, state leaders, and partners from across the country will gather in Washington, DC, for Flood the Hill, adult education's largest national advocacy event.

Together, we'll meet with Congressional offices, discuss current federal policy issues, and bring the voices of adult learners and educators directly to Congress.

To help make attendance possible, COABE is offering a limited number of travel grants of up to $500 to offset travel and lodging expenses for individuals facing financial barriers.

Grant applications will be reviewed based on:
✔️ Financial need
✔️ Advocacy potential
✔️ Geographic representation
✔️ Travel complexity

We do so by offering free adult education and literacy programs, including adult basic education (ABE), ESL, and GED prep classes.
