A little tea, a few scones, and some good conversation—what could be better?

One of my favorite traditions at Wilson is hosting Tea with Pres Wes each semester. As we approach the midway point of the semester, it's a wonderful opportunity to slow down, step away from our busy schedules, and simply enjoy spending time together.

The tea and clotted cream are lovely, of course, but the best part is always the conversation and the chance to connect with members of our Wilson community.

Yesterday, Wilson College had the privilege of hosting Pride Franklin County's annual PrideFest, and I couldn't be prouder to see our campus serve as a place of celebration, connection, and community.

I believe deeply that everyone deserves to live authentically, to be treated with dignity and respect, and to know that they belong. Those aren't just ideals we talk about at Wilson. They are values we strive to live every day.

Thank you to Pride Franklin County for bringing our community together and allowing Wilson to be part of such a meaningful celebration.

It was great to welcome so many prospective students to Wilson for our Equine Studies Focus Day! I enjoyed getting to meet many of you—and, of course, making sure you left with a little Wilson flair in the form of a lapel pin.

Our equine academic programs and competitive teams are one of Wilson’s signature experiences, and we are proud to be a national leader in these programs. I can’t wait to officially welcome all of these future Phoenix home to Wilson in the future.

As a first-generation college student myself, this is always one of the most meaningful moments for me.

At our First-Generation College Student Reception, I had the opportunity to hear from our students about their experiences and to share a little of my own journey. Being the first in your family to attend college can come with challenges—and sometimes with questions you don’t even know you’re supposed to ask.

To our first-generation students: Know that you belong here. You are surrounded by faculty, staff, and fellow students who believe in you, want you to succeed, and are here to help you all along your journey.

I’m proud to be a first-gen college graduate and even prouder of the first-gen students who call Wilson home.

When Wilson students wear merch from another college on our campus, it hurts my feelings. I’m not angry. I’m just disappointed.

Fortunately, this is entirely preventable. The Wilson College Bookstore is open Monday–Thursday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.

One of my favorite traditions? Passing along the fine art of tying a bow tie, of course.

Earlier this semester, I met with the Phoenix men’s soccer team for our annual bow tie lesson. There were a few twists, turns, and do-overs along the way, but I think they cleaned up pretty well!

Now that they’ve mastered the bow tie, it’s time to take care of business on the field. Best of luck this season, Phoenix!

Wilson Wednesday has its rewards!

I spotted some students proudly wearing their Wilson Blue, so naturally, I rewarded them with even more Wilson gear.

I also encountered a student who apparently needed a gentle reminder about which college they actually attend. Don’t worry—we got it sorted out. 😂

Wear your Wilson Blue on Wednesdays. You never know when Pres Wes might be watching. 👀

Once again, I am thrilled to say Wilson College has set a new mark with its highest point-in-time enrollment for the start of a fall semester, an 11% increase! Wilson has also set its highest traditional, in-person enrollment, since 1968 and the largest residential student population since 1970. Providing a strong education rooted in the liberal arts and sciences and transforming the lives of students is what made this possible. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Wilson.

What a Wilson Weekend! There’s something special about seeing our campus filled with students, families, alumnae and alumni, and friends—celebrating old traditions, making new memories, and simply enjoying being together.

Thank you to everyone who came home to Wilson and helped make the weekend so memorable. This community is what makes Wilson such a special place.

Back for an encore performance, Wilson Weekend lit up the night with a spectacular drone show! It was incredible to see the colors, designs, and a little Wilson spirit come to life in the sky above campus.

Even better was getting to experience it alongside so many members of the Wilson and Franklin County community. What a way to celebrate Wilson Weekend!
