Last weekend several members of the Wilson College community and I made the trip to the Academy of Music in Philadelphia to watch The Outsiders a winner of four Tony awards. After the show we talked with the producers Sue Gilad and Larry Rogowsky alongside actors Bonale Fambrini and Cobrin Drew Ross.

Last week I met with The Council of Independent Colleges. Our institutions are a critical part of our nation's fabric, and we must find ways to ensure that they can continue to transform the lives of students into the future. Now more than ever, our nation and our world needs the graduates of these remarkable institutions.

Tomorrow marks the 79th Tony Awards! While I'm not able to attend as many shows due to my schedule, I'd like to share some of my favorites from this year!

Here at Wilson, we are always looking for ways to grow and improve, and this summer is no different.

We currently have several exciting projects underway on campus, including a refresh of our student center, expansion of our residential capacity through the addition of apartment -style housing, and, of course, the installation of a new turf athletic field that will benefit our student-athletes and support the continued growth of our athletic department. We can't wait to show off the final products!

Last weekend was one of my favorites of the year, Reunion Weekend. On Saturday, I gave the 2026 State of the College address and had the opportunity to speak with and enjoy the company of so many of our passionate alumnae and alumni. As I always say, “Come home often.” We can’t wait to see you again!

On this Mother’s Day, I am even more grateful than most. This year my mom has faced a number of health challenges, but she came home last week, just in time to celebrate her special day. I count myself fortunate to be home in Kentucky to be with her today. Wishing all the Wilson moms out there a very special day. 💙🖤💙

This past weekend, I hosted my annual garden party on the front lawn of Sharpe House to celebrate the undergraduate and graduate Class of 2026 and our Teacher Certification Pathways completers. I had a wonderful time speaking with students and their families as we cherished great memories at Wilson College and looked toward their bright futures.

Sunday marked a momentous day in your lives, Class of 2026. Your boldness and dedication brought you here. Make sure to take time to reflect on everything you have accomplished and give thanks to those who supported you. I can't wait to see all the great things you do to make the world a better place. Remember, it's not goodbye, just see you soon. Godspeed, Phoenix!

Commencement weekend is upon us! As we prepare for our graduation ceremonies on Sunday, I would like to invite you to join us tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. in Laird Hall for our Baccalaureate service.
