Andrew Jackson Middle School is a No Place for Hate school! AJMS proudly offers a wide variety of clubs and extracurricular activities.

Vision: Guided by our core values of respect, responsibility, persistence, and achievement; the Andrew Jackson Middle School community is committed to our mission of providing all students with the tools to become lifelong learners and productive members of a global society. This is accomplished through collaboration among faculty and staff members, students, families, and the community working to

gether to provide the necessary resources and support to produce a safe, supportive, and positive educational environment and maintaining the highest standards of academic and social excellence. Our school provides a plethora of family-oriented and community activities such as Math and Science Night, Speech Night, Career Day, Lemonade Day, and annual food and blood drives. AJMS has maintained a “B” School Performance Score for the past three years. Our ELA standardized assessment scores have continuously increased and are currently the highest of the district middle schools. AJMS offers a fully inclusive program for students with disabilities. AJMS incorporates team-teaching to ensure that all students receive a quality education.

Quiz review looks different for every class!
Ms. Saizan’s class took learning outdoors to review for their Unit Rates and Ratios quiz! Students partnered up to solve ratio problems, display their work, and earn points toward their class score. A little friendly competition and teamwork made review even more fun!

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Hannah Gaillot!

Hannah wears MANY hats: dedicated teacher, coach, mother, daughter, and friend. She’s always willing to help, whether it’s answering a math question, stepping up when there’s a need, or simply making someone’s day better with her smile.

Volleyball Night was a huge success and lots of fun! All of the teams played hard. We even invited some of the many AJ alums in attendance to play a special game. The winning student team took on an all-star faculty team in the grand finale. The students played hard, but the faculty came from behind for the win.

Many thanks to all of the staff members and volunteers who helped to make this a fun event!

Today, Andrew Jackson Middle School students participated in a lockdown drill in partnership with the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Everything went smoothly, and our students did an excellent job following directions and taking the drill seriously. We are very proud of the way our Colonels handled themselves!

A special thank you to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office for helping us continue to make the safety of our students and staff a top priority.
