💙🤟 September is Deaf Awareness Month! 🤟💚

September is a time to celebrate the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community, raise awareness about the different ways people communicate, and encourage inclusion, understanding, and respect.

Here at Kids Kampus, we believe it’s never too early to teach our little ones that everyone communicates differently. While we don’t teach a full ASL curriculum, we introduce our children to simple American Sign Language signs such as more, please, thank you, mom, dad, all done, etc.

These small signs give our little ones another way to express themselves while also introducing them to a language used by many members of the Deaf community.

Did you know Louisiana also offers programs to support the early identification, language development, and intervention needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing infants and young children:

🤟 Louisiana Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (LA EHDI) — Tracks newborn hearing screenings, provides follow-up support, and helps coordinate diagnostic care.

🤟 Guidance, Outreach, & Language Development (GOLD) — A free, family-centered program through the Louisiana School for the Deaf serving children from birth through age 5 to help build language and communication skills.

🤟 EarlySteps — Louisiana’s early intervention system providing support and services for infants and toddlers with developmental delays or specialized needs.

Early identification, access to resources, and supportive environments can make a meaningful difference for young children and their families.

At Kids Kampus, we hope the little lessons we teach today help our children grow into kind, curious, understanding, and inclusive members of their community. 🪁💚💙

There are many ways to communicate, and every voice deserves to be understood!

🎉 Happy Work Anniversary, Ms. Linda! 🎉

Today we are celebrating an incredible 19 YEARS with our very own Ms. Linda!

Ms. Linda’s journey with Kids Kampus began in the classroom, caring for and loving on our little ones. Eventually, she traded the classroom for the kitchen, and she’s been keeping our bellies full ever since!

For 19 years, Ms. Linda has been a familiar and dependable part of Kids Kampus. Day after day, she works behind the scenes preparing meals, keeping her kitchen running, and making sure our kiddos are fed and taken care of. And after all these years, we truly couldn’t imagine Kids Kampus without her!

19 years of dedication, 19 years of memories, and countless meals made with love!

Ms. Linda, thank you for your loyalty, your hard work, and all the love you have given Kids Kampus throughout the years. We are incredibly lucky to have you as part of our family and hope you know just how much you are appreciated!

Thank you, Linda, for all you do! We're so lucky to have you! 💫💙💚
