I'm sure by now most of you have seen the headline "Cannabis Compound Prevented Covid Infection in Laboratory Study". So if you take CBD or other cannabis products, you should be good right?!
NOT SO.
Last year, I wrote an article about CBD vs CBDa. In short, CBGa and CBDa (cannabinoids in the study) are both precursors to cannabinoids we are familiar with, and most likely will not be present (or in minute amount) in the CBD or THC products. (But does in our oil, read on to discover why.)

All the major cannabinoids present in the cannabis plant and h**p plant first develop as the “mother of all cannabinoids”, cannabigerolic acid (CBGA). Depending on the cannabis strain and its unique plant enzymes, CBGA will be converted into a varying combinations of three major acidic cannabinoids precursor compounds: tetrahydrocannabinol acid (THCa), cannabichromenic acid (CBCa), cannabidiolic acid (CBDa). From there these acidic precursors will convert to their non-acidic form during a chemical reaction called thermal decarboxylation. THCa becomes THC, CBDa converts to CBD.

Think of it as raw juices containing more phytonutrients than processed because the heating process destroys most of those phytonutrients.

In the blog post, I make several suggestions on how you CAN get CBDa and CBGa. All Maeve brand of CBD oil contains natural CBDa since we use raw, organic, unfiltered h**p seed oil!
