This day in Kenston History: July 1, 1953

⭐️ Happy Birthday, Kenston! ⭐️
On July 1, 1953, members of the Auburn and Bainbridge Boards of Education decided to consolidate the two districts and create the Kenston Local Schools. Their decision to merge was based on a successful trial school year in 1952, responsible financial management, growing enrollment in rural Geauga County and the ability to meet the educational needs of the students of Auburn and Bainbridge Townships.

While many things have changed in our communities and the world since Kenston’s consolidation in 1953, but our focus remains true. Kenston continues to build on a foundation of continuous improvement and academic success.

Did you know? Kenston was chosen as the name of the new school district, taken from Kent’s Town, designating a small area in the early settlement that was common to both Auburn and Bainbridge Townships.

Happy Birthday to Kenston! 🎂🎉✈️

Honoring Mrs. Sunny Doxey 💙🍎

🌟 For those who know Mrs. Doxey, you know the incredible impact she has had on generations of students and families in the Kenston community. After a distinguished career as an elementary teacher in Kenston Schools, Sunny continued sharing her passion for education through her volunteer work at the Chagrin Falls Park Community Center.

📚 Now, after years of continuing to teach, inspire, and serve, Sunny is “officially”retiring from her volunteer role as well. Her kindness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to helping others learn and grow have left a lasting mark on our community.

❤️ Thank you, Mrs. Doxey, for the countless lives you’ve touched, the lessons you’ve taught, and the example you’ve set. Your contributions have made Kenston and the surrounding community a better place, and you will be deeply missed.

👏🏼👏🏽 Please join us in celebrating Sunny and wishing her a happy, healthy, and well-deserved “official” retirement! ❤️

What an incredible story of friendship, shared purpose, and professional excellence!

💙✈️💙 We’re proud to celebrate fellow Kenston Bombers Dr. Mark and Dr. Kelly as they mark 30 years in dentistry.

📚🦷 From classmates to colleagues, their journey is a wonderful reminder of how lasting connections can come full circle.

👏🏼👏🏼 Congratulations on this milestone and your continued dedication to caring for our community!

Kenston Schools

Thirty years after graduating from dental school, Dr. Mark and Dr. Kelly are celebrating a milestone that comes with a great story behind it. Long before dentistry, the two were friends and fellow Bombers at Kenston High School. In a surprising twist of fate, when they each became dentists, neither even knew the other had entered the same profession. Now, three decades later, these two Kenston Bombers have come full circle — reunited not only by friendship, but by a shared passion for dentistry and caring for their family of patients at Dentistry at Winbury!
