But when it comes to infected wounds, they might be a tad too absorbent. Picture this: they slurp up all the lovely wound exudate, but along with it, they might also slurp up some of the good stuff—like the healthy cells that are trying to fight off the infection.

**3. Hydrogel Dressings: ** They're like a cool drink of water for dry, thirsty wounds. But for infected wounds, they can be a bit too much. They add moisture to the wound—great for dry skin, not so great for bacteria looking to throw a party.

Too much moisture can lead to maceration (that's when your skin gets all wrinkly and soggy), creating a breeding ground for even more bacteria.

1. **Stay Calm, Stay Informed**: Stay updated with information from reliable sources like the infection control team and hospital administration. Knowledge is power, after all.

2. **Activate the Outbreak Protocol**: Hospitals have specific protocols in place for such scenarios. Steps on How to Put on Sterile Gloves
Perform hand hygiene.
Select the appropriate sized gloves.
Open the sterile package of sterile gloves with caution by using the flaps surrounding the package. Remember you have 2 inches to grab around the sterile field without contaminating it.
First, glove your dominant hand. Pick up the glove for the dominant hand with your non-dominant hand by grasping the inside of the cuff of the glove. Then slide it onto your dominant hand. Be careful not to touch anything with this gloved hand other than the sterile packaging.
Take your sterile gloved hand and slip it under the cuff of the other glove to glove your non-dominant hand. Gently push the glove (while the hand is still under the cuff) onto your non-dominant hand.
Adjust the gloves carefully…making sure you don’t touch your skin or other objects.
