For those interested in playing Legion Baseball, Ages 13 and up, the sign-up and parents meeting is on Sunday, Feb 4th, at 5 p.m. at the American Legion Post 12.


Gordon-Rushville doesn't have enough players for a 7th and 8th-grade game. So, 8th grade will play a full game at 4:00. The 7th grade will play two quarters after the 8th grade game.


Chadron Public Schools will have a 2-hour late start tomorrow, 1/16/24. CMS doors will open at 9:40. Students should report directly to their 1st-period classrooms. Dress warm, and see you tomorrow!


No school on Monday, January 15, 2024. Stay warm and safe!


Due to extremely low temperatures and possible road conditions, Chadron Public Schools will not have school tomorrow, Friday, January 12th. The extreme temperatures are forecasted through Monday. We will make future decisions about school on Sunday evening. Please stay home and stay warm.


Due to the weekend weather forecast, the 7th and 8th-grade boys basketball games and girls wrestling vs. Valentine on Saturday have been postponed. We don't have make-up dates scheduled yet, but we will let everyone know when they get rescheduled.


The 7th and 8th grade boys basketball games vs. Gering scheduled for tonight have been postponed until next Thursday, January 18th. 7th grade will play at home and 8th grade will travel to Gering.


We hope you will join us at our holiday concerts!


Chadron Middle School will host One Book One School next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The school will read the book Snow Treasure School by Mary McSwigan. You are invited to join us!

School will begin at 8:00, but we will run a 2-hour late start bell schedule to accommodate the reading schedule from 8:00-10:00.

Annual CMS Caring for Sharing Food Drive

Starts: Friday, Dec. 1
Ends: Friday, Dec. 15
* All food items will be donated to NCAP (Northwest
Community Action Program) food pantry.

The winning grade gets bragging rights & two students from each Cardinal Block in the grade that collected the most cans will be drawn for a free pizza.

Things to remember:
* Items must be store bought & unopened
* Items must have a label with the nutrition facts
* NCAP doesn’t need Ramen Noodles (they have plenty).
Therefore, Ramen Noodles will not be included in the final

Helpful reminder for students - If you collect food items door to door, please remember you represent Chadron Middle School, so:
* Be respectful.
* Be polite.
* Tell them who you are and why you are collecting cans.

The CMS Hope Squad hosted a "Don't be Scared to Share Your Feelings!" door decorating competition at CMS. Mrs. Hoffman's class won 3rd place, Mr. Calkin's class won 2nd place, and Ms. Degnan's class won 1st place and a pizza party! Here are a few of the amazing doors!


The CMS Student Council will host a 7th and 8th grade dance on Friday, November 3rd, from 6-8 PM in the CMS Gym. The cost at the door is $4.00.

CMS will celebrate Red Ribbon Week on October 30th-November 3rd!

Red Ribbon Week highlights the importance of living a drug-free life. It presents an opportunity for parents, educators, and communities to reinforce the drug-free messages they share with their children throughout the year. During Red Ribbon Week, youth and adults around the nation pledge to increase their knowledge by learning more about the destructive effects of drug abuse, including prescription drug misuse, and renew their commitment to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

Dress-up themes:
Monday: Drugs are getting old - dress from the past decades
Tuesday: Blackout drugs - wear black (No Halloween costumes)
Wednesday: Pair up against drugs - dynamic duos/twin day
Thursday: Team up against drugs - Favorite sports team
Friday: Get "Red" of DRUGS - Wear Red

Due to state football playoffs, the vocal music concert has been moved to Monday, October 30th at 7 PM in the CHS Auditorium.
