Hello! We are looking forward to seeing students back in the building tomorrow! I wanted to share some information about the first days of school, so we are all on the same page.

1. The first day of school is Thursday, August 13th. School starts at 8:00, and you can drop kids off at 7:40. 5th and 6th graders will meet on the playground (west side off the building) every morning; 7th graders will meet at the northwest entrance; and 8th graders will meet at the main entrance on the northeast side of the building. When dropping students off in the morning, please do not park on the north side of the building. Instead, we treat drop-off like a drive-through. I will be out front directing traffic. Please take your time, and watch out for other cars and kids. It can get pretty busy in the morning. The first two days are 1:30 dismissals, and regular dismissal is at 3:18. You can park on the north side at the end of the day and wait for your child to exit the building.

2. Please don't send kids with a ton of school supplies on the first day because we will have an assembly before handing out class schedules, and students will have to drag their school supplies around until the assembly is over and schedules are handed out. All they need on day 1 is a notebook and a pencil.

3. Students will receive their back-to-school packet on the first day of school. Included in the packet is the Chromebook form that students and parents must sign before Chromebooks are checked out to 7th and 8th graders. 5th and 6th graders also must return the form before they will be allowed to use Chromebooks in their classes.

4. Any 7th grade students who do not have an up-to-date physical and immunizations will not be allowed to attend until those requirements are met, or an appointment date is scheduled and communicated with the main office. Please call 432-0708 if you have questions.

5. On Monday, August 17th, we will hold an orientation meeting for our new students and their families at 5:00 pm in the CMS gym. This includes 5th graders. Open House will follow from 5:30-6:30, and everyone is invited to attend.

I'm looking forward to seeing our kiddos, and I'm excited for the new year! Please reach out if you have any questions.

Hello! Just a reminder that ALL incoming 7th-grade students must have updated immunizations and physicals on file with the school BEFORE school starts on Thursday. The school is open from 7:30-4:00. The office will be closed tomorrow (8/11) for district in-service from 8:00-10:00.

Please swing by to drop off the physical forms and immunization records (if completed outside Nebraska). You can also email them to our school at [email protected] or fax copies to (308) 432-0720.
