Introducing another one of our speakers for the afternoon session: Dr. Kraatz

Dr. Elizabeth Kraatz is an assistant professor of psychology at CSC. She earned her Ph.D. in educational psychology at The Ohio State University, where she focused on classroom dialogue and teacher scaffolding. She started studying trauma because of her experiences as a foster and adoptive parent. This merged with her studies of s*x education when researching how to best support students in becoming effective s*x educators. She is a mom to four kids, three dogs, two cats, and six chickens. If she had any spare time, she'd like reading, baking, and hiking.

Introducing our first speaker of the day for our conference: Branden Martens

I’m Branden Martens, husband to Trish Martens, we have two lovely dogs Duke and Bear. I was born in Kansas. I went to a junior college and played football at Fort Scott, Kansas. I then transferred to Chadron and graduated in 2011. I joined the fire department in the spring of 2012. I became an assistant chief in the fall of 2016 and in the spring of 2020, I became the fire chief. I have my EMT license, ff1 structure, and wildland engine boss. I work at Chadron Ace Annex as a small engine mechanic and manager. For fun I like to do small projects for my side business, hauling rock, snow plowing, and timber cutting.
