Hello everyone, we are 2 weeks away from our conference!! We introduce to you, our KEYNOTE speaker, Barbara Rubel. We are so excited to have her!!
Barbara Rubel, BS, MA, BCETS, DAAETS is a keynote speaker and trainer on traumatic loss, burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma-informed care and has presented to over 1,000 groups since 1991. Barbara’s story was featured in the Emmy award-winning documentary, Fatal Mistakes, Families Shattered by Su***de narrated by Mariette Hartley. Barbara is a Board-Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress and a Diplomat with the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. She received a BS in psychology and a MA degree in community health, with a concentration in thanatology, both from Brooklyn College. She is an award-winning author of, But I Didn’t Say Goodbye: Helping Families After a Su***de (3ed). (2020). She wrote the 30-hour CE Nursing course, Loss, Grief, and Bereavement: Helping Individuals Cope (4ed), and the CE course for healthcare professionals, COVID-19 Loss, Grief, and Bereavement (2020). Barbara co-authored Dept. of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime Training Curriculum, Compassion Fatigue, and is a contributing writer to Thin Threads: Grief and Renewal; Fresh Grief; Coaching for Results; and Keys to a Good Life.
