Instructions in classical and jazz piano. Our focus is primarily classical piano performance. The studio works with CM, ABRSM and RCM exams.
All students undertake technical studies systematically to ensure a good technical foundation. Students are also offered a broad range of repertoire, from classical to jazz/pop as appropriate to cultivate interest. New teaching studio in Cerritos. May God bless this space with much inspired teaching, learning, joy and lasting friendships.
Held a virtual student recital this year because of COVID-19 lockdown. Here's a trailer of the recital. Enjoy!
I'm so proud of this former student of mine. She will be performing at Carnegie Hall after the COVID-19 lockdown has been lifted. She sent me this video of her playing Rachmaninov's Moment Musicaux No. 4. I'm very moved by her playing.
Congratulations Kenzo, for winning First Place in your division today at the Cerritos Yamaha School's annual (2019) piano competition. I'm very proud of you. Well done!
Just finished a student piano recital. I'm proud of all my students who played today: proud of their hard work, their good attitude in learning, their perseverance, and the love and respect that each of them is developing for music, and for arts and humanities in general. This is true joy for me.
I would like to make a follow up comment about the article I posted a little while ago about teachers who seem to teach "too slowly". The slow pace is mostly experienced in the initial years of studies (usually the first five years.) If the student and parents are both patient enough, the student will cross a certain threshold at some point when an acceleration will take hold. From that point on, the student will progress much faster and go much further than others who did not do the foundational work.
