💚⚡ Attention Incoming 7th Grade Families! ⚡💚

If your child will be entering 7th grade at Ceredo-Kenova Middle School this school year, now is the time to make sure their required immunizations are up to date.

📋 West Virginia requires the following vaccines for all students entering 7th grade: 💉 One dose of Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria & Pertussis) 💉 One dose of MCV4 (MenACWY) (Meningococcal Vaccine)

❗ Important: Under West Virginia law, students cannot be provisionally enrolled without proof of these required immunizations.

📅 Don't wait! Contact your child's healthcare provider or your local health department as soon as possible to schedule an appointment. Getting this taken care of now will help ensure a smooth start to the school year.

📚 Every Day Counts at CKMS! ⚡

One of the greatest gifts we can give our children is the opportunity to be at school every day.

While we understand that illnesses and emergencies happen, many appointments, vacations, and family trips can be planned around our scheduled school breaks. That's exactly why we've created this 2026–2027 CKMS Vacation Planner—to help families make informed decisions while keeping students in the classroom as much as possible.

At Ceredo-Kenova Middle School, we know that learning is about so much more than textbooks. Every school day gives students the opportunity to: ✅ Learn new skills and concepts. ✅ Collaborate with classmates. ✅ Build relationships with teachers and friends. ✅ Participate in hands-on activities, clubs, athletics, and special events. ✅ Grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

When students miss school, they miss experiences that simply can't be recreated with makeup work. While teachers will always help students catch up, there's no substitute for being present when learning happens.

We encourage families to use the attached planner whenever possible to schedule vacations, routine medical appointments, and other non-emergency events during school breaks. Working together, we can help our students make the most of every opportunity this school year.
