5 signs your child may benefit from math tutoring—even if they're not failing. 👀➗
When people hear “math tutoring,” they often think of a student who is failing math. But tutoring can be helpful long before a student reaches that point.
Here are 5 things parents can watch for:
1️⃣ Homework is taking forever.
Your student spends a long time working through problems that shouldn't take nearly that long.
2️⃣ They understand it when someone helps—but struggle independently.
They can follow along once someone explains it, but don't know where to begin on their own.
3️⃣ They are constantly saying, “I don't understand.”
Repeated frustration with the same concepts can be a sign that they need a different explanation or more practice.
4️⃣ Their confidence is dropping.
“I hate math.”
“I'm terrible at math.”
“I'll never understand this.”
Those statements matter.
5️⃣ They can memorize the steps but struggle when the problem changes. This is one reason I believe so strongly in understanding math rather than simply memorizing it.
