Congratulations to the Escambia County FFA members who participated and placed in the Escambia County Farm Bureau Speech Contest.

1st Place - Grace Oliver (Northview FFA)
2nd Place - Nathan Gilmore (Northview FFA)
3rd Place - Payton C**n (Northview FFA)

Students had to deliver a 5 minute speech to a panel of judges involved in the agricultural community. The speech topic was “What are some of the proactive, collaborative steps that farmers, ranchers, local communities, and organizations like Farm Bureau can take to help guard against invasive species threatening Florida agriculture?”

The winner of the speech contest will participate in the district level contest on September 18th. Congratulations to all!

The meeting will be held in the annex building on the right-hand side of the parking lot, in the first room on the left.

Grace Oliver of the Northview FFA Chapter was recently selected by Florida FFA to represent the state as a delegate at the National FFA Convention and Expo in late October.

Twenty-six past and current state FFA Officers, as well as current district officers, were selected to represent Florida in the delegation process. These delegates will create, debate, and vote on policy for the entire organization, consisting of over one million students.

In recent years there have only been two other delegates selected from our area: Isabelle Jenkins of the Virtual School FFA Chapter and Ona Spinks of the Northview FFA Chapter.

Grace Oliver has been a member of the FFA since her 8th grade year at Ernest Ward Middle and has been on the executive committee of the Northview FFA Chapter for four years. She currently is serving as the District 1 FFA President and the Northview FFA President. Recently she competed at the state level in both Parliamentary Procedure and Livestock Evaluation.

Our 2026–2027 Officer Team had a great day exploring Agricultural stakeholders in our County. We visited Aliff Acres farm where we learned how they raise, process, and sell their own products, toured Lukers Custom Meats to explore animal processing systems, explored the forestry industry with the Florida Forest Rangers and stopped by our local Escambia Extension office to see our specialists. We had a blast and learned about the different parts of agriculture in our community as a team. Thank you to all the speakers who allowed us to come into their places of work! We can’t wait to see what this year has in store!

🎊Come join us for our next YF&R meeting 🎊
(Tuesday, July 28th @6:30p)

There’s a lot of new and exciting stuff happening and we can’t wait to share it with all of you! Tell a friend and bring them with you!

This meeting will be held in Santa Rosa County. We won’t take up too much of your evening since it is during the week and people have to drive from neighboring counties.

We can’t wait to see everyone. 🙌🏽
