Character Counts! is a non-profit, non-partisan initiative to bring character education to QAC. Program.
In 1999, a citizen of Queen Anne's County proposed to the Community Partnerships for Children, our local management board, that they hold a public forum to discuss the issue of violence to children. First on the list was to provide children in our county with after-school programs and second was to promote character development in our children. Today we want to recognize Purple Heart Day, honoring those wounded or killed while serving. Respect means remembering their sacrifice and showing gratitude.

Teacher assignments are beginning to arrive, and we are ready to start matching Character Counts coaches with classrooms!
Parents, grandparents, retirees, professionals, and community members can all make a difference.
Coaches lead a ready to use 20 to 30 minute lesson twice a month. That's only an hour a month!
