RYAN IS BACK HOME!

Today is the first day since the accident that Ryan was able to join us for Sunday service.

Today, we remembered all the prayers we prayed and the countless ways God has truly answered those very prayers.

Today, we had the opportunity to reflect on God's wondrous work, steadfast love, and faithfulness.

Today, we got to see just a bit more of our perfect, heavenly Father.

Today, we responded in thanksgiving and worship.

It's safe to say today was a good day!

Psalm 77:11-14
11 I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your wonders of old.

12 I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds.

13 Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God?

14 You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might among the peoples.

We ask that you would continue to pray for our dear brother as he transitions back home and faces new challenges back in Nova. Thank you for your continual love and support!

HOW AMAZING IS THIS??

A room full of high-school students, on a Friday night(!), for an intensive Bible study through the book of Genesis. These guys are hungry for the WORD! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Every time I visit Ryan, I give him an update on what’s going on at church, and more particularly, an update on all the fundraisers that are happening on his behalf.

Today, he motioned that he wanted to say something. As he silently mouthed the words and pointed to certain letters on an alphabet chart, this was what he wanted to communicate:

“I don’t deserve all the fundraising.”
“I feel like a burden.”

I was speechless.

Here was a kid who’s life completely flipped upside down and has been in immense pain for the past three weeks, and all he’s thinking about is how he might be a burden to others

After some time, I asked him to think back to all the times he’s helped someone in need. And then I asked him if he ever did it begrudgingly or out of obligation. He shook his head. And then I asked him, “you did it with a joyful heart, didn’t you?” He nodded.

I told him that that’s exactly how all of us feel, too; that none of us are doing it begrudgingly or out of obligation, but rather with such joyful hearts.

His eyes welled up.

After reading Matthew 25:31-46 out loud, I told him that when we do all these things, we are ultimately doing it to Christ, because He identifies with the weak, poor, broken-hearted, and those in pain. 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'

Then I thanked him for giving us an opportunity to serve and be a blessing to Christ, first and foremost, and to him as well. He just smiled.
