As St. Joseph County Grange Fair is all wrapped up and everyone is getting back into a normal routine, I want to take a minute to thank our financial sponsors♥️

As we closed down the night last night, I just wanted to say how much we appreciate each and everyone of you that stopped in or helped at Tiny Tails Birthing Barn this week.
From the oodles of volunteers and the committee members, everyone’s hard work did not go unnoticed! It truly took a village this week!
It was so wonderful to see so many new and returning faces ♥️
I really hope everyone left with a smile and maybe just a little bit more knowledge of animals and all the care they take/receive.
Planning for 2026 Tiny Tails has already begun. We have some exciting new educational ideas in mind.
Our first year was amazing, and we will continue to build on the foundation set by the Miracle of Birth Tent ⭐️

Today’s pet of the day is the bunny bunch 🐰

Rabbits are fluffy, social, plant-eating mammals called lagomorphs, found worldwide except Antarctica.
They are crepuscular, meaning most active at dawn and dusk, and live in groups called colonies or warrens.
Their happy leaps are called "binkies".
Rabbits have ever-growing teeth that they wear down by chewing hay and grass, their main diet. They have excellent hearing and eyesight, using their long ears to control temperature and listen for predators.
A baby rabbit is a kit or kitten. A female rabbit is a doe, and a male is a buck.
There are over 305 different breeds of domestic rabbits found across 70 countries.
We have lots of rabbit friends to see and pet, with many different ages of bunnies! Come see us and take a selfie to get a prize!

Today’s pet of the day is Oreo, Stella and Sophie 🐐 They are all Nigerian Dwarf goats and are all does (females).
Nigerian Dwarf goats originated in West Africa.
They are a miniature dairy goat, with does typically standing 17-19 inches tall and bucks 19-20 inches tall.
Nigerian dwarfs produce milk with a high butterfat (6-10%) and protein content, making it excellent for cheese and butter.
They are friendly, calm, and playful, making them good pets for families and individuals.
They are also popular for showing due to their graceful appearance and gentle disposition.
Goats are social animals so they need at least one other goat or animal for companionship.

Today’s pet of the day is Starlight ⭐️
Starlight is a mini c**t. A mini c**t is a baby male horse. He was born in April so he’s just 5 months young♥️
He lives with his owners Harley and Fawn Hochstetler on a ranch with other horses and cattle.
Starlight is intelligent, curious and has a calm manner. He will be raised up to be a show pony in 4H.

Today’s pet of the day is Almond. 🐴
Almond is a mini horse that is 20 years old. Miniature horses are real, miniature horses, NOT ponies, known for their small size (under 38 inches tall), big personalities, and gentle, social nature.
They can live long lives, often over 30 years, and are used as pets, therapy animals, and even service animals.
Almond is cart broke, which means he can pull a small cart behind him hauling people or things.
A fun tid bit of history is Almond used to show at the St. Joseph County Grange Fair about 10 years ago with his old owner Megan Milliman, but now is residing with Jenny Nofziger and her daughter is showing him at the fair this year. He is a real gentle boy and loves anything that starts with treats.
Almonds motto is the “need for feed rather than the need for speed”💨

Today’s pet of the day is Bacon 🐷
Bacon is a male pot bellied pig. He was rescued so we don’t know his exact age but we believe he is about 3 years old. Did you know pot bellied pigs can live 12-18 years!
Pot bellied pigs are highly intelligent, comparable to a 2-3 year old child! They are often clicker trained. Bacon knows how to sit and lay down for a tasty treat! His favorite treats are marshmallows and watermelon 🍉
Did you know pigs don’t sweat? Only a little through their noses 🐽 so that’s why they love to dig holes and take mud baths to cool down 🌡️
Bacon is “some pig” so you should come and visit him and his many friends at Tiny Tails Birthing Barn! Remember to take a selfie and post to get a prize!
