Today we recognize Juneteenth, a celebration and commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. Also known as Emancipation Day or Freedom Day, Juneteenth marks a day in 1865 when enslaved Texans learned they would be free, two months after the end of the Civil War and two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation.

The alarm clock went off this morning, and for the first time all year, I got to look at it and say: "NOT TODAY, GHOSTS." 👻❌

There are officially ZERO days left. No more levels, no more mazes, no more running for my life. The map is completely clear, the high score is locked in, and summer break has officially begun! ☀️🌊

My actual itinerary for today:

0% Running 🏃‍♂️
100% Chomping snacks on the couch 🍕🛌
WAKA WAKA WAKA-ing my way right back to sleep. 😴

If anyone needs me, I will be completely unplugged like an old arcade cabinet. We made it to the sequel! 🕺💨

As we close out the 2025-26 school year, we are busy preparing for the 2026-27 school year with our FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL for students on August 24!

We actually did it. 1 day left. Tomorrow is officially summer!

The countdown is over, the joystick is broken, and I have officially beaten the game. My brain is currently just a flashing screen that says **HIGH SCORE** while the 8-bit victory music plays on a loop in my head. 🎶🕺

My game plan for the next 24 hours:
* WAKA WAKA WAKA straight into SUMMER. 🍕🏖️
* Absolutely ghosting my alarm clock for the next two months. 👻❌
* Doing a victory lap because we survived the map.

If you need me, I’ll be the yellow circle face-down on the couch, completely out of quarters. Happy Summer, everyone! ☀️🌊🏃‍♂️💨
