A few weeks ago, our FBLA members had the opportunity to visit Bama Bucks and the Sand Mountain Amphitheater for our Business and Industry Tour!

Students were able to explore two very different business models and see firsthand how businesses operate in unique ways to meet customer needs. From entertainment and tourism to agriculture and retail, they learned that every career and job connects to business in some form.

Our members also gained valuable insight into concepts like supply and demand while hearing from professionals about the challenges and opportunities involved in running a successful business.

We are thankful for the opportunity to give our students real-world learning experiences that connect classroom lessons to future careers!

Today, our FBLA officers had the opportunity to put their leadership skills into action while volunteering at Job Ready Day!

Our students participated in a fashion show highlighting appropriate and inappropriate interview attire, helping their peers better understand how to dress for success. They also assisted in the financial literacy room by distributing money, guided participants to their sessions, worked in the concession stand, served lunch, and helped with cleanup.

We are so proud of the way they represented our program through their hard work and leadership!

Our business students are gearing up for our Spring Mock Interview Competition in just a couple of weeks, and we couldn’t be more proud of their hard work and preparation!

Our Fall Semester winners were recognized with Harbor Freight gear (compliments of Harbor Freight) and a Walmart gift card. We are excited to congratulate our Top Five Interviewees (listed in alphabetical order):

✨ Tristan Bussler – Spring Garden
✨ Mollie Hunter – Sand Rock
✨ Shyann Nicholson – CCHS
✨ Makiah Rogers – CCHS
✨ Jasmine Stanley – Sand Rock

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Jeffrey Knight and the Centre Harbor Freight - Centre store for generously donating prizes for our winners. During the Fall Mock Interview Competition, students participated in simulated interviews for an entry-level position with Harbor Freight, gaining valuable real-world experience and professional skills.

We are so proud of these students and look forward to seeing what our Spring competitors accomplish! 👏

To wrap up FBLA Week, our students had the incredible opportunity to learn from local entrepreneurs on Friday. We were honored to welcome Vanessa and Dane Maddux from The Great Awakening Coffee Company as our guest speakers.

They did an outstanding job sharing their entrepreneurial journey, explaining how entrepreneurship works, and highlighting the real risks and rewards that come with building a business. Students gained valuable insight into what it truly takes to turn an idea into a successful venture.

To put their skills to the test, students were challenged to work in teams and create a plan to turn $10 into $100 within seven days. The creativity, innovation, and work ethic displayed in their ideas were impressive!

We are proud of our students for thinking like entrepreneurs and grateful for community partners who invest in their future.
