Meet the Panther Crew! ๐Ÿพ

Mrs. Dieckmann's high school students take their learning into the community almost every Friday โ€” and some Wednesdays too.

Students learn to face and stock shelves, rotate product by checking dates, match SKU codes to ensure items are placed correctly, break down boxes, put overstock away, and help customers when they can. But the skills go beyond the shelves โ€” customer service, professionalism, teamwork, and awareness of their surroundings are all part of the experience.

Students begin with full adult support and gradually work toward completing the entire process independently โ€” building confidence and real-world skills one step at a time.

A huge thank you to Prenger Foods & Extreme Hardware - Centralia, MO for partnering with us! ๐Ÿพ

7th-grade scientists turned paleontologists this week at CBMS!

Students are learning how fossil records and rock strata tell the story of Earth's history โ€” from major extinction events and ice ages to volcanic eruptions and floods. To bring it to life, they dug 3D-printed fossils out of layered dirt, creating their very own fossil record in the process.

From there, they used their findings to draw conclusions about how animals adapted and how the environment of an area changed over time.

A peek inside Mrs. Simms' classroom at CIS!

Students are learning some very important lessons โ€” understanding the structure of government, the rights and responsibilities of citizens, and how our country's foundational documents shape how we live.

They are doing this by reading a book on the U.S. Constitution and exploring interesting facts through paired study, group discussion, and independent work. Research shows that when students engage with content in multiple ways, they build a deeper understanding.

A great way to learn civics!

Centralia R-VI is proud to be part of an important county-wide effort to strengthen school emergency preparedness.

The Boone County Office of Emergency Management recently provided CR6 with a Reunification Operation Kit โ€” equipment and supplies designed to help school officials and emergency responders safely reunite students with their families following a serious emergency. Our district will also serve as a resource hub for northern Boone County, making the equipment available to Sturgeon R-V, Harrisburg R-VIII, and Hallsville R-IV should they ever need it.

This is what community partnerships look like. We are grateful to Boone County OEM and Director Chris Kelley for investing in the safety of our students and schools.

A group of CHS sophomores, juniors, and seniors recently visited the University of Missouri for a campus tour. ๐Ÿพ

Our 13 students, along with two MU guides, explored the dorms, rec center, and student center, and got a little history lesson on the university right down the road.

Whether or not Mizzou ends up being the destination, getting on a college campus in person opens doors.
