CC East will be hosting a Community Concert on December 16th at 7 pm at the Roxy Theater in Morton, with performances by the community choir and orchestra. Enjoy!

We'll start December off with a whole week of concerts:

Centralia College Choir on Thursday, December 4th

Our first concert for Winter is not far off! Come see the Lewis County Community Band on 11/26, followed by the Pacific Northwest Chamber Orchestra on 12/2, the Jazz ensemble on 12/4, and the Choir on 12/12. All concerts will be free, in the Corbet Theatre, at 7 pm, and open to all. And all will be enjoyable! :)

So, as I ramp up for this year's Jack Stone Award for New Music, I'm thinking about how to make it sustainable. To say that this is my passion project is putting it lightly. There is no other national opportunity for JUST community college composers, and over the years, I have watched the recipients go on to have fabulous futures as composers. But each year might be the last, because we just don't have enough funding to be sure we can make it to the next year. Paying professional musicians what they should be paid is important to me, and the in-person experience the students have together is priceless.

If you have ever been to one of our awards concerts, you know how amazing and special they are.

Centralia College is hiring a part-time piano accompanist to rehearse and perform with its growing and vibrant choir. The successful applicant must be able to play piano using advanced musical skills across multiple genres, have proficiency in advanced sight-reading skills, and be available most Thursday evenings during our Winter quarter.
