In order to get our 5th graders excited to read, Mrs. Amanda gives them a “taste” of several books from different genres. The students are given the opportunity to try out books they may never even consider. Lists are made, reviews are written and in the end, they’re rewarded with a good book and a sweet treat. It’s a memorable event every year!

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we'd like to give a few special shout-outs to the incredible people who continue to support Centralhatchee Elementary School and the Heard County School District!

A huge thank you to Brother Mark Williams and Centralhatchee First Baptist Church for partnering with the Citizens of Georgia Power volunteers to provide backpacks for our students and serve hot dogs during our back-to-school event. Your generosity helped make the day extra special for our families.

Thank you to Centralhatchee First Baptist Church for once again providing a delicious meal for all Heard County School District employees as we prepared for a new school year. We also appreciate the encouraging message shared by Brother Mark Williams—it was a wonderful way to begin the year together.

Thank you to the Citizens of Georgia Power volunteers for donating additional classroom and school supplies to the staff of Centralhatchee Elementary. Your kindness and support help provide resources that directly benefit our students.

And a special thank you to the Tarpley family for treating our staff to donuts on our first morning back. It was such a thoughtful way to welcome everyone back for a new year!

We are truly blessed to be part of a community that continually pours into our school. Thank you for your generosity, encouragement, and unwavering support of our students, staff, and families. We are grateful to be part of the Centralhatchee community!

What an AMAZING first day of school at Centralhatchee Elementary School!

Our hallways were filled with smiling faces, excitement, and the energy that makes CES such a special place. Thank you to our incredible students, families, faculty, and staff for helping make today a wonderful start to the 2026–2027 school year.
