Today, we are heartbroken at the loss of Dolly Parton, and we honor the extraordinary legacy she left behind. Her investment in early literacy has put millions of books into the hands of children—including right here in Pickens County through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. 📚❤️

She was always proud of this endeavor and especially proud of what it meant to her father. “My Daddy told me the Imagination Library was probably the most important thing I had ever done.”

We’re deeply grateful for her belief that every child deserves the joy, wonder, and opportunity that comes from a book. Thank you, Dolly, for inspiring a love of reading in generations of children!

- Clemson Child Development Center
- Geer Memorial Baptist Church CDC
- Preschool at Holly Springs Center
- The Sunshine House, Easley

First Steps 4K Eligibility is Expanded!

Families with children who will be 4 on or before Sept. 1, 2026, with family income(s) below 300% FPL are now eligible for participation in First Steps 4K. For example, a family of four making $99,000 or less annually now qualifies. First Steps 4K provides high quality, FREE preschool in private childcare, charter schools, and private schools. NOTE: Parents who qualify under expanded eligibility (between 185% and 300% federal poverty level) do NOT qualify for 4K+ Sibling Scholarships.

❗️UPDATE for tomorrow’s (8/20) scheduled Samaritan Health Clinic of Pickens County mobile clinic!

🚨July 20th VCOM update🚨 The VCOM team will be serving patients at our Main Clinic in Easley instead of providing mobile outreach services that day. New and existing patients can still receive care at the Main Clinic, located at 303 Dacusville Hwy., Easley, SC 29640!

If you have questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please call (864) 855-0853 Ext. 1010. Please share this update with anyone who may be planning to visit the mobile clinic.
