Are you a licensed pesticide applicator in need of continuing education credits to maintain your license? OSU’s Pesticide Safety Education Program offers 3 in-person and 13 webinar training events for recertification.

The in-person events will take place at the following locations:
Roseburg, OR at the OSU Douglas County Extension, October 7, 2026, from 9 am-3:30 pm
Mt Angel, OR at the Mt. Angel Festhalle, January 5-6, 2027, 8 am-5 pm
Albany, OR at the Linn County Expo Center, January 21, 2027, 8 am-5 pm

Both in-person and online events feature a variety of speakers from industry, academia, and government. Go to beav.es/psep for more information and to register.

Enrollment for this year’s 4-H program is open!

4-H is the largest out-of-school youth program in the United States. 4-H uses an active learn-by-doing approach. Participants learn arts, science, and life skills, by working on many year-long projects! We have numerous areas of focus in our 4-H program – agriculture, cooking, expressive arts, leadership, shooting sports, sewing, and many more.

Join the Jackson County Master Food Preservers for an enjoyable, hands-on introduction to the world of fermentation. You’ll make your own jar of sauerkraut to take home and learn the basics of brewing Kombucha.

Each participant will receive a kit to start their own Kombucha at home, and we’ll talk about simple ways to personalize and experiment with future ferments.

One of the most common challenges of gardening in the Rogue Valley is the plentiful deer population. For the past 20 years, Shooting Star Nursery has gained expertise working with customers throughout the region as well as designing landscapes that incorporate deer resistant plants and gardening strategies to get the plants off to a good start.
