Menopause can change the way your body responds to movement—but it doesn’t mean you have to stop moving, you just need a workout that understands.

PVOLVE was created for women in mid-life. Not adapted, but built with her biology at the forefront. The result? Swipe to hear directly from our members.

This is movement for where you are—and where you’re going.

Do I need to lift heavy during menopause?

The short answer: yes. But “heavy” doesn’t mean the same thing for everyone.

As estrogen declines during menopause, maintaining muscle becomes increasingly important. One of the ways we signal our muscles to maintain and build strength is by challenging them with resistance that feels demanding enough to create an adaptation.

So, what actually counts as “heavy”?
It’s not about the absolute number on the dumbbell—it’s about how hard your muscles are working. “Heavy enough” simply means choosing a weight where you couldn’t complete another rep in the set with good form. That might be 5 lbs for one person and 25 lbs for another. The effort you put into the set is what drives real results.

At PVOLVE, we’re all about making strength training feel approachable while still giving your muscles the stimulus they need to get stronger.

Save this one for your next strength session. 💪

Your body changes during menopause. Your approach to strength needs to evolve with it.

As estrogen levels decline, maintaining muscle and supporting bone health become increasingly important—which is one reason weight training can play such an important role during this stage of life.

At PVOLVE, we prioritize heavy load and proper form to set the foundation for strong, capable muscle. Heavy load without proper form can cause injury, but lifting without heavy enough load won’t deliver the stimulus your muscles need during this phase.

Because your body is changing, your workout should know how to change with it.

Welcome to Strongtober, in honor of Menopause Awareness Month 💪

This month, we’re spotlighting a topic we believe deserves a lot more attention: education around menopause and practical tips to support your body through it.

We’re putting that into action with Strongtober—our 30-day weight training challenge designed to help you build strength through consistency. We’re kicking things off with Jessica Shepherd MD MBA FACOG on why strength training matters during menopause and how PVOLVE can help you get started.

As we age, maintaining muscle becomes increasingly important for supporting bone health, mobility, balance, metabolism, and the strength to keep doing the things we love. But strength training doesn’t have to mean intimidating gyms, complicated programs, or lifting the heaviest weight you can find.

That’s where PVOLVE comes in.
We make strength training approachable, effective, and designed to work with your body—not against it. Because your workouts should help you feel stronger, more capable, and confident in your body.

Not all strength training is about lifting as heavy as possible.

There’s a difference between max strength—your ability to produce the most force possible in a single effort—and the kind of strength you rely on every day.

Getting off the floor. Carrying your kids. Lifting a suitcase into an overhead bin. Catching yourself when you lose your balance.

That’s usable strength: the ability to produce force repeatedly, across different movements and positions, and control your body as you do it.

And that’s what PVOLVE trains for.

Because for most women, the goal isn’t a bigger number on a one-rep max. It’s having the strength, stability, and control to keep doing more of what you love, for longer.

Consider this your sign to add us to your Fall routine 🍂 I mean… have you met our trainers? 🤎

Strength training isn’t just about getting stronger at the gym. It’s about building the kind of strength you can use everywhere else.

Traditional weight training often focuses on isolating a muscle or movement pattern. At PVOLVE, we take a more integrated approach—using weights alongside our unique resistance equipment and functional movement to challenge your muscles while also training stability, mobility, coordination, and control.

Why does that matter? Because your body doesn’t work in isolation. When you move through everyday life, your muscles and joints work together to help you stabilize, change direction, generate force, and control your movement.

PVOLVE weight training is designed to build strength you can actually move with. You’ll challenge your muscles with progressive resistance while training your body to move through different planes, ranges of motion, and movement patterns.

The goal isn’t just to lift heavier. It’s to build a body that’s strong, capable, and ready for whatever life asks of it.

And this Strongtober, we’re putting that into practice. 💪 Join us for 10 weight-training classes this October and make strength a part of how you move, feel, and show up for life.
