It has come to our attention that inaccurate information has been circulating regarding reductions to our music program, including reduction of staff, ensembles, and course offerings. We understand that this has caused concern and uncertainty, and we want to take a moment to address this directly.
Please know that these claims are 100% inaccurate. There are absolutely no plans to reduce music staff, eliminate ensembles, or decrease course offerings. In fact, we are continuing to strengthen and grow our program, with ADDITIONAL staff, courses and opportunities for students already in development for September!
We are also taking steps to better understand how this information began circulating so that we can ensure clear and accurate communication moving forward.
Our music program is a source of great pride for our district, built through decades of dedication, collaboration, and shared commitment from our students, staff, and community. We remain fully committed to supporting and expanding these opportunities for all students.
Thank you for your continued support and for the care you show toward our music program and its future. I can’t wait to share all of the addition opportunities coming to our music program while maintaining the current offerings as we continue to develop new options for our students.
Sincerely,
Philip K. Voigt
Director of Music Education
