Professor Kevin Bellard holds a Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu under 5th degree Black Belt Ralph Gracie, who started training Jiu-Jitsu right out the womb! Professor Ralph was taught Jiu-Jitsu by his father Carlos Gracie, Jr, who learned Jiu-Jitsu and its lifestyle from his father, Grandmaster Carlos Gracie, Sr. Not many Jiu-Jitsu practitioners can say that they have such a pure Jiu-Jitsu lineage, of which Kevin is very proud. In 2001, Professor Kevin moved from Louisiana to San Francisco, where he lived for 11 years, it was in San Francisco that he discovered BJJ from a friend and soon started training under Professor Sapao at Ocean Beach Barra Brothers Jiu-Jitsu. Kevin trained 5-7 days a week for many years under Professor Sapao. He has competed and medaled in IBJJF tournaments all over the United States and Brazil. He is very accomplished as a competitor and instructor who has a passion for teaching and helping others discover this life-changing martial art.
