A little bit of music magic at Watts Middle School this week! Stephanie and Sarah had a blast working with the beginning band students and helping them take those exciting first steps into the world of band. Watch out—these kids are going places!

Yesterday was one of those special days that reminded me (Sarah) just how beautifully music connects generations. I had the incredible honor of meeting Virginia Miller—Dayton flute legend, former Dayton Philharmonic flutist, longtime Stivers School of the Arts teacher, and teacher of the world-renowned flutist Brandon Patrick George. An all-around flute extraordinaire!
Thanks to our own Hilary for introducing us, I got to spend some time with Virginia today and bring home her beautiful alto flute… along with music she generously shared with us.
We are now the caretakers of a little piece of Dayton’s flute legacy. And what an honor that is.
I’m especially excited to pass Virginia’s music along to our Sand Dollar students, allowing her artistry, teaching, and love of the flute to continue inspiring another generation of young musicians.
What a gift to meet someone whose influence has shaped so many musicians—and now, in a small way, gets to become part of our studio’s story, too. 💙

Acceptance to Novae is a HUGE accomplishment, and we are so proud of these outstanding, hardworking singers (and their dedicated, knowledgeable teachers!)!

This beautiful sand dollar was given to us by Sand Dollar mom Izzie Harlow . It belonged to her Aunt Nancy, and as Izzy was cleaning out Nancy’s things over the last few years, she felt like this particular piece should find its next home with us.

For us, sand dollars represent abundance, purpose, and faith, and though we never knew Ms. Nancy, we’re honored to know her wonderful family through Izzy and Nova, who studies voice with Ms. DeAnna.

Thank you, Izzy, Nova, and family for entrusting us with this special memento from Aunt Nancy! We’ll take good care of it!

Johan has been studying at Sand Dollar and playing the flute for one year and her progress has been astounding! She had to work hard on tone development with her teachers, and that hard work paid off.
