Just a reminder that we will be gathering at the Whistle Stop Cafe this Friday starting around 6 pm, and Saturday around 5 PM. It's BYOB and it will be a pot luck, so bring whatever you want to share. We will have places to plug in crock pots. There will also be bottled water available. Please respond on this message and let us know if your coming and what you are bringing to share. Also if you have any questions, please let us know. Hope to see everyone this weekend!!

A very casual get-together for the Centerville Graduating Class of 1989 is set to be held at The Whistle Stop Cafe meeting place (confirmed with one of the owners, Becky Wray)

Where: Whistle Stop Cafe, 24377 180th Ave, Numa, IA 52544

When: Homecoming weekend, October 4th and 5th. Building is rented for our class both days, all day (in case you want to drop off food or meet up earlier). Dinner / snacking will start around 6:00 on Friday and 5:00 on Saturday. End time is not set because we can visit as long as we want to each night. Some might be going to the game or other gatherings that weekend.

Set up: Several outlets and a strip for crockpots or roasters to set up- Potluck style. A full fridge with freezer is available for use, as well as an ice machine.

Music: Alexia

Smoking is allowed outside only. There are tables outside too.

Price: FREE!! (But if you’d like to chip in - the cost for us is $75 for each day. Any monies collected that exceed reimbursing the rental cost will be deposited into the class fund for future use.)

Menu: Whatever you want to contribute but don’t feel like food in hand is required if you just want to stop to visit awhile. Bring your drink of choice, but also know a cooler will be stocked with cold water bottles too.

Hey, This is Jewell. There has been some discussion on whether or not we celebrate our 35th class reunion this year. I personally think we should wait and do a 40th reunion and skip the 35th, these are a lot of work and doing it every 5 years gets to be a bit much. That being said, if someone else would like to take over and do one this year that's fine and I still have the money in a savings account. We have around $590. I still have all of the contact information on a USB Drive that I would also be willing to give to anyone that would like to try and contact everyone and get their money, etc., Otherwise I would be more then willing to help with the 40th reunion. Let me know what everyone thinks.

So it was brought to my attention today by one of our observant classmates that someone posted on our page and tagged a lot of us. Does anyone know that person? That is kind of why I thought we should scale back on some of what gets posted on here, as it is “about us!” I mean, isn’t it always? It should be anyway!!! Any way I am going to dig into the planning for our 35th reunion! Does anyone wish to participate? We can start with a zoom meeting, or google, or what the hell ever works for the people that want to be involved. Shout out any thoughts. it doesn’t feel like we are very motivated, LOL. Well it’s coming, ready or not. Hope to hear from some suckers, I mean classmates!!
