If you exhibited ANY animals at the 2026 Appanoose County Fair, your check is now available to be picked up from the Extension Office from the Jr. Livestock Auction and Exhibitor Add-On Auction! The Appanoose Extension Office is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. – Noon and 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. If anyone other than a parent or child will be picking up the check, you must notify the office prior to the check being picked up.

Please be sure to send a thank you note to these buyers, if you have not already, as they have graciously supported you with your projects. If you need a mailing address for any of the buyers, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us and we would be happy to get that address to you.

We are seeking Appanoose County 4-H Members who are in 9th - 12th grade to apply to be on the 4-H Youth Council! The 4-H Youth Council plays an important rule in many areas of 4-H and the fair! During the year, youth council members attend regular monthly meetings, help with judging record books, and are in charge of the Awards Banquet! They help with various activities at the fair such as keeping records for the livestock shows to managing the kiddie tractor pull event! They are always willing to lend a hand and help out wherever needed! If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please contact the Extension Office by Friday, October 30th, 2026 to apply!🍀

We are proud to have Addison Drew representing Appanoose County as a State 4-H Youth Council Member! Addison is a member of the M&M Pioneers 4-H Club and serves as the Vice President of the Appanoose County Youth Council! Addison was selected through a competitive application and interview process. During her year of service, she will participate in leadership development experiences, connect with peers from across Iowa and contribute to initiatives that strengthen the 4-H program!
