Esther and I woke up at the same time. She was playing in the playroom happily all by herself. I was getting ready to prepare our breakfast. I called her and ask if she would like to help me with breakfast or she can continue playing. She excitedly said “yes!” She cracked and whisked the eggs and pour them in the pan while I cooked the sausages and fried some eggs. Esther was scared that she was gonna get burned when pouring the eggs in the pan. I calmly told her, “to become a great chef, we can get burned or get a cut or make mistakes and it’s okay.” Then Lizzy came to the living room cold and so Esther hurriedly came down and looked for Lizzy’s blanket to keep her warm. When we got done cooking, Esther lead us in prayer, put food in her sisters plates and even helped and buckled Lizzy in her high chair. All I can tell her is how amazing she is and so helpful and throughful! You know what she said? “Thank you, Mommy!”

In my 6 years of parenting, I have learned what builds them up and what tears them down. Homeschooling has helped me to know my children more, myself more and God more. It’s a constant learning, grace and life giving. It is hard but so worth it! None of these would be possible without Gods constant love and direction.

One of the core values our family shares is "love and forgive always." In our household, we understand that we are going to make mistakes along the way, hurt each other so loving and forgiving each other through it all keep the family mentally and emotionally healthy!

Painting, swimming, playground at Lake Atlanta today! For me the best part was when Esther chose red and white paint for the cross because she loves red and I had the opportunity to tell her about Jesus blood shed for our sins. Then she added, "momma, I painted it white because we're forgiven." Indeed sweetheart, He washed us clean as white as snow! 🥺🙏❤️

“And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:3-5‬ ‭

Cheering you on, mama! ❤️

One of the things that we've been working on is for them to memorize Bible verses on top of our core values. One for our family(Galatians 5:22-23) and one from our kids church (Psalms 139:14). So far they are doing so great memorizing and reciting the verses with little to no help from us! Great job, girls! 🥰🎉

We noticed that the girls have been selfish lately and just wanted to think about themselves first by not sharing their toys to one another or fighting over one thing. Ending? Jason and I would raise our voice out of frustrations. Then the gentle reminder of the Lord came to our hearts that we need to change our ways by handling the situation in a calmer and gentler way to show them that it's better to deal with situations in a way that pleases the Lord. We have been teaching them the fruit of the Spirit. For example, when they can't control their emotions -- to pray that the Holy Spirit will help them control them. Or when Esther really liked a toy and one of her sisters want the toy also, I would asked her, what's important to to her, the toy or loving her sister? We keep reminding to set a good example for them to follow. Our Core values is centered on Philippians 2:3-8 to put others first and today, we took the girls for a walk (they were riding their bikes ☺️), and Daddy told them to ride their bikes on the side which Mary turned first then came Esther on a faster speed. Esther stopped and said along these lines, "I will let Mary go first because she is my sister." That moment, God reminded me and Jason to keep teaching and modeling to them God's ways, pray with them and the Lord will do the rest. Then the Holy Spirit just gave me the words to say to her, commended her for being so kind and putting her sister first.... Then I said, " you know what Esther? You were listening to the Holy Spirit when you put your sister first! When she heard that, there was just pure excitement in her eyes while riding her bike. And I added, "keep listening to the Holy Spirit sweetheart. He will only tell you to do what is good." Then we head home with joy in our hearts that little by little, our girls are grasping the works of the Holy Spirit in their character formation.

It is definitely a lifelong, sometimes difficult job to train up our children in God's ways. There are definitely days that they won't cooperate, but if we hold on to His promise and still do it especially in time when we don't like doing it, we will eventually, by God's grace, produce God-honoring children who will become huge blessings to our society! Never give up! I am learning that failure is always part of the journey. The most humbling thing to model to them is admitting we made a mistake, ask for their forgiveness and try again. They will respect and honor you for that! 🙂
