Silver Alert for a missing Joaquin Man, Joseph Pate, last seen at the 3000 block of FM 2787, Joaquin, Texas at 10:30am on August 14, 2026. Joseph Pate, 77 years of age, white male with hazel eyes, white hair, weighing 160 lbs and 5'11" tall. He was last seen wearing a SFA ball cap, blue plaid shirt and dark pants. The alert was issued by the Shelby County Sheriff's Department. Allison Harbison, Shelby County Judge, announced during Commissioners' Court on August 5, 2026, that she would be putting a burn ban in place. This will give opportunity in a week's time for it to rain before the commissioners consider ratifying the ban at the next meeting. All outdoor burning is prohibited in the unincorporated areas of Shelby County. A strong thunderstorm will impact central Shelby County until 5:15pm CDT.

At 4:49 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Center, moving north at 5 mph.

Hazard: Wind gusts up to 30 mph and half inch size hail.

Source: Radar indicated.

Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include Center, James and Arcadia.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions: Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions.
