We are a caring and family-focused childcare center dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and healthy environment for children. We are looking for a dependable and organized Daycare Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children in our program.
✨ What You’ll Do
Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to approved menus
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
Accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions
Ensure compliance with state child care and health regulations
Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment daily
Work cooperatively with daycare staff and management
Help cover in classrooms as needed if staff are out sick/on vacation to meet ratio requirements
💛 What We’re Looking For
Previous cooking or food service experience preferred
Experience in childcare or school settings is a plus
Ability to multitask and stay organized
Reliable attendance and positive attitude
A loving, patient, dependable person with a heart for young children
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Meets DHS requirements for childcare staff

The Growing Patch Learning Center is excited to announce immediate childcare openings at our brand new Central City location, located in the former Apple Kids building!

We currently have a few openings available for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and our K-5th grade Summer Camp program for families still searching for quality summer care for their kiddos. Whether you need care just for the summer or are looking ahead to continued care into the 2026-2027 school year, we would love to welcome your family to GPLC.

Our programs focus on creating a safe, loving, educational environment where children can learn, grow, play, and thrive. From nurturing infant and toddler classrooms, to preschool readiness programs, to an exciting summer camp full of activities, friendships, creativity, fieldtrips and fun for school agers, we are passionate about providing high-quality care for every age group.

2026-2027 Wrap Around Care for Preschoolers at CPU:
Registration information for the 2026–2027 school year was emailed out today. If you did not receive the email and are interested in registering, please send us a PM with your email address and we will gladly forward the information to you.
Wrap Around Care is available Monday–Friday from 6:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. at the CPU Primary Building and is designed to care for preschoolers (PK3, PK4, or AK) outside of their CPU class schedule. Message with questions if needed! Thank you.

The Growing Patch Learning Center is growing again and we are excited to announce our new location coming to Central City, Iowa. We are now hiring childcare teachers for all age groups, from infants through school-age.
We are accepting both full-time and part-time applicants and encourage anyone with a passion for working with children to apply.
Starting pay based on experience and education, with opportunities for growth.
