Morning Meditation
This world is dealing with an ancient spiritual enemy that has been around since the beginning of time.
If God’s church is called to stand in the gap, being the light of the world and the salt of the earth, while facing a troubled misguided society, it must deal with this ancient spiritual enemy and it’s MO.
1 John 3:10 KJV
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
This ancient spiritual enemy’s MO can be traced throughout the entire Bible. Its deeds are clearly manifested by the holiness of God.
What is this ancient enemy’s MO?
The MO is “Temptation”
Genesis 3:1-5 KJV
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? [2] And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: [3] But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. [4] And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: [5] For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Luke 4:1-14 KJV
And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, [2] Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. [13] And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. [14] And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
Our victory over temptation can be experienced as we yield to the power of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 1:8 KJV
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Romans 6:12-13,16 KJV
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. [13] Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. [16] Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
If Jesus was obedient, then we must strive to be obedient if we want the victory.
Philippians 2:8 KJV
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
After each victory we can joyfully decree and declare our conviction to walk in holiness because of our love for God.
1 John 2:15-17 KJV
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. [16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. [17] And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
