Farm Kids Farm Kids offers a unique educational experience that connects children with nature.

Through hands-on activities, students engage in farming, gardening, and exploration of the forest environment, fostering a deep appreciation for the natural world.

Today was a beautiful day to be outside! ☀️

We got to read another butterfly book and then say goodbye to 2 of our monarchs! 🦋

Then, in celebration of the Fall colors, we started exploring primary colors and color mixing! 🎨

We ended by gathering leaves and starting our leaf pressing for future crafts! 🍁

Tomorrow is our next Forest Enrichment Day!!!

🥒FOREST ENRICHMENT DAY AT FARM KIDS! 🌼

Our next Forest Enrichment Day is Wednesday, October, 7 9 AM–12 PM for preschool & kindergarten-aged kids!

This week, we’re harvesting from the garden and saving seeds! 🌻 🍅

How do plants grow?
How can we be more self sufficient?
What plants can we save seeds from?
How do plants spread?

We’ll learn through hands-on activities, simple experiments, books, nature exploration, and plenty of time outdoors.

A great way for kids to enjoy a morning of farm & forest school without a full-week commitment!

$35 per child | Ages 4–6

Today we celebrated Autumn! 🍂

We cared for the animals and then headed inside for our Morning Gathering Journal and art craft. 🎨

Today was A for Apple (and Autumn!) 🍎
And we made Apple stamps where tomorrow we will turn into a pumpkin patch! 🎃

Then the rest of the day was spent in the mud kitchen baking cozy Fall muddy meals! 🥧

Today was THUNDER CAKE DAY! ⛈️ 🎂

📕 We read the book Thunder Cake and then reenacted the book with collecting ingredients and making a cake during a thunderstorm (listening to a thunderstorm soundtrack) ⚡️

Then we moved the sheep somewhere a bit more suited to real storms ☔️

Why just sit and do worksheets when you could have this much fun?!

We:
combine movement with learning letters because kids aren’t meant to sit still.

Don’t teach letters on alphabetical order because that’s not how words work

Change the lesson and action often enough for interest to stay there.

Today was THUNDERSTORM DAY!! ⛈️

We read books with the ponies about Sally Storm and Thunder-Boomer 📚

Then we experimented with sound waves (thunder) with playing music with a speaker in a bowl with small kernels dancing on top. 💃🏻 this also turned into a major dance party for everyone on the farm! (Ill post a video reel)

We created our own static electricity within our “clouds” 🎈

As usual we had a great time doing our letter of the day - “Z” for Zap (I’ll post another video of how Farm Kids do worksheets!) ⚡️

Our next Forest Enrichment Days are October 7 & 21! 🌳

Today was a great day on the farm! ☀️

We took the opportunity to get a few activities done that we had planned for other days but just ran out of time.

💨 Our STEAM activity for the day was creating these weathervanes! The kids created the shapes they wanted to catch the wind, cut them out, decorated them, and then got to watch when the wind changed direction.

We also took our book time into the sheep field and snuggled on a blanket in the sun and read some great books to the sheep! 🐑

Calm days like today before a busy day with extra kids like tomorrow’s Forest Enrichment Day create a great balance here on the farm! 🌱

Week 2 of our book club went beyond the book and we got to talk about words and how the right words can hold lots of meaning.

We also talked about what types of words we hoped would be used to describe us.

And we created our own webs with the word we’d like used most.

Can’t wait to wrap the book up next week!

Our next Forest Enrichment Day is Wednesday, September 23, 9 AM–12 PM for preschool & kindergarten-aged kids!
