I wanted to let you all know that today will be the final day that the Tutor Boutique will be posting to social media. Don't worry, the Tutor Boutique will still be offering multisensory, structured literacy support for struggling students. I just won't be using social media any longer as a platform for marketing my business.

As a small business owner, I need to make sure that I am devoting my time and energy to those aspects of my business that best support my goals & visions for my company. Unfortunately, social media marketing is no longer a platform that meets those needs.

If you want to stay up-to-date with my current tutoring openings, phonics coaching for teachers slots, as well as receive information about my fabulous Free Resource library for teachers and parents, then you will need to make sure to sign up for bi-monthly newsletter. You can do that by clicking the link below.

Thank you all so much for your support over the last three years, and I hope to see more new subscribers to my newsletter over the coming weeks and months. You all are truly the BEST!

This week's "Book Bit" features a grumpy old tree who wants nothing to do with becoming someone's Christmas Tree with all the lights, ornaments and tinsel hanging from their boughs. In fact, he absolutely HATES people!

The Halloween Tree by Susan Montanari, will delight readers with an old, gnarled tree who is determined to be different from all the other trees being sold on the Christmas Tree Lot.

The delightful tale is sure to be a hit with both adults and kids alike, as this grumpy tree works to find his own place in this world. For a wonderful read aloud version, click on the link below to be taken to Kid Time Story Time on YouTube. One of the most important routines in any phonics lesson is the Three Part Drill. The Three Part Drill serves as a review of previously learned concepts. This drill usually occurs at the very beginning of your phonics lesson and includes three procedures for review: visual, auditory, and blending. The Three Part Drill should take-up no more than 10-15 minutes of your instructional time.

For a video demonstrating the steps in the Three Part Drill, click the link below. For a copy of the Fall Themed Blending Board that I use in the demonstration, head on over to my Free Resource Library on my website. Remember, you must be a subscriber to get access to the Free Library.

When there’s a bit of a nip in the air, and shades of yellow & gold begin to creep into the trees, we know it’s time to put summer to bed and let autumn begin her rise to glory.🍂 This week’s Book Bit, relishes in this spectacular time of year. Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn by Kenard Pak is a gorgeous picture book that celebrates this change of seasons.

The book is centered around a young girl while she takes a walk through the neighboring forests and towns. On her journey, the little girl carries on conversations with the flowers, trees, and animals giving greetings for the coming season. In turn, those same flowers, trees and animals respond with how they say goodbye to summer and hello to autumn.

This is a fabulous book to introduce young children to the idea of point of view. It also lends itself perfectly to a class book-making activity. Check out my video preview of this book, by clicking the link below.👇
