🎓✨ Celebrating Learning, Growth, and Student Voice!

Our second and fifth grade Riverhawks recently celebrated the completion of their units of inquiry with engaging End of Unit Presentations! 💙🦅

These presentations gave students the opportunity to showcase their learning, share their discoveries, and demonstrate their understanding through creativity, collaboration, and communication. We loved seeing their confidence shine as they proudly shared their knowledge with others!

As an IB World School, experiences like these are an important part of our Primary Years Programme (PYP), encouraging students to take ownership of their learning, reflect on their growth, and develop the skills to become confident, lifelong learners. 🌎📚

Congratulations to our second and fifth graders for their hard work, thoughtful presentations, and enthusiasm for learning! We are so proud of you! 💙

Our next All School Chapel is coming up Friday, October 9! 💙

All School Chapel is a special opportunity for our Riverhawks to come together as one Village for a meaningful time of worship, prayer, reflection, and connection. These moments allow our students to step away from the rhythm of the school day and focus on their faith while strengthening the relationships that make our community so special.

We believe education is about developing the whole student. Chapel provides another opportunity to encourage our Riverhawks to reflect on their values, consider how they can serve and care for others, and continue growing into compassionate, principled young people who lead with purpose.

We look forward to gathering together this Friday and continuing to grow in faith, character, and community throughout the school year. 🙏💙

🤝🌎 Buddy Day: Learning, Leading, and Creating Together!

One of the special ways we build connection across our Village is through Buddy Day, bringing students from our MYP Houses together with PYP students to collaborate, learn from one another, and strengthen relationships across grade levels. 💙🦅

For this Buddy Day, students worked side by side to create artwork for World Peace Day, sharing ideas and exploring what peace, unity, and community mean to them. 🎨🕊️ Our MYP students had the opportunity to step into leadership roles by encouraging their younger buddies, listening to their perspectives, and helping transform their ideas into something they could create together.

These cross-age experiences connect beautifully with the IB philosophy of student leadership and agency. Leadership is not simply about being in charge. It is about communicating, collaborating, demonstrating empathy, considering different perspectives, and using what we learn to take meaningful action within our communities.

We love watching our older Riverhawks lead by example while giving our younger learners the confidence to share their own voices and ideas. Together, they are learning that building a more peaceful world can begin with connection, creativity, and the way we care for one another. 🕊️💙
