Congratulations to Ariadne Santiago for being selected to the Elementary All-State Choir. She was one out of 5000 students that audition to make it. Only 200 elementary students from the state of Florida were selected. We are proud of her!

Today we’re celebrating Mrs. Rios—a truly inspiring teacher who keeps growing every day.

Mrs. Rios continues to learn, reflects on what’s working, and uses feedback to make her teaching even stronger. But what’s most impressive? She doesn’t just improve her lessons—she also uses those insights to help her students stay engaged and are not allowed to opt out of learning.

Mrs. Rios believes every student can learn, and she backs that belief with consistency, high expectations, and a supportive classroom culture where effort matters.

We’re so lucky to have her. Thank you, Mrs. Rios, for showing students that learning isn’t optional—it’s powerful.

Thank you to all that braved the rain to attend Osprey Family Information Night. We were honored to have Mr. Todd, Principal of Celebration HS, kick us off with a very inspiring speech about community.

We had New World Reading share information about the reading program and how it benefits our students.

Cynthia Long, our SDOC Science Coordinator run through some hands on science for our families.

Dr. Hope Strange helped our families by providing manipulatives for our kids and sharing ways to work on math at home for the parents.

Celebration K8 sent Ms. Callahan to share ways to prepare our fifth graders for middle school.

Our parents learned a lot of valuable educational information and math, reading, and science strategies to help their children at home.

Our PTO was able to assist parents with community engagement.

Finally, our own IVES teachers and staff stayed the extra time to share information about the standards they teach and information about upcoming field trips.

With motivated students, teachers, and strong community support, the future shines bright for our Ospreys.

Big shout-out to Mrs. Tinlin!

This year, Mrs. Tinlin is in her first year teaching 4th grade, and she is already making an incredible impact. She has fully leaned into coaching, welcomes feedback, and turns every piece of learning into action in the classroom.

Mrs. Tinlin is also committed to staying ahead. She’s “taking off” this year while keeping student engagement at an all-time high. With her guidance, students are going to SOAR!

Here is a HUGE Shout-out to our incredible kindergarten teachers!

Today, Mrs. Lawrence and Ms. Carroll’s kindergarten classes were busy in science, sorting objects by their properties, which is an important step in building observation, thinking skills, and early scientific understanding.

Mrs. Lawrence brings years of experience and strong classroom knowledge as a veteran teacher.

Ms. Carroll is in her first year at Island Village and her determination and commitment shine through in every lesson.

What a great reminder of how consistent our kindergarten team is across the grade level. Each teacher plans thoughtfully to help our students learn what they need by the time they finish kindergarten.

Miss Stevens is a strong example of what it means to be a veteran teacher who was a Top Ten finalist last year and is someone that never stops learning. She always implements strategies to engage all her students.

Today, during reading class, we were excited to find her guiding students through a Think-Pair-Share activity. It’s a strategy that builds confidence, deepens understanding, and gives every voice in her room a chance to be heard.

Way to go, Miss Stevens!
