Cedarville High School EAST

Cedarville High School EAST EAST is a project-based, self-directed program where students utilize high tech equipment and software to help the community. http://www.eastinitiative.org/

The EAST Initiative is a nonprofit organization that provides new ways of learning for modern students. The EAST model of education features student-driven service projects accomplished with the latest in technology. EAST classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art workstations, servers, software, and accessories, including GPS/GIS mapping tools, architectural and CAD design software, 3D animati

on suites, and much more. Students find problems in their local communities, and then use these tools to solve them.

So excited to see our kids' project featured on the EAST Initiative website! They made bonding hearts for babies in the Mercy NICU!

Our EAST students and Environmental Science students had an incredible hands-on learning experience at Lee Creek Reservoir!

Thanks to Arkansas Game and Fish biologists, students stepped out of the classroom and into the field to explore real-world environmental science in action. They learned about aquatic ecosystems and water ecology, helped build fish habitats, and even got the exciting opportunity to ride on an electrofishing boat to see how biologists study fish populations up close.

We are so grateful to Arkansas Game and Fish for investing in our students and providing such an amazing day!
