History and Mission
The Jerusalem College of Technology (JCT) was founded in 1969 and is today one of Israel’s major academic institutions with over 4500 students on three campuses. It is fully accredited by Israel’s Council of Higher Education and specializes in high-tech engineering, industrial management and life and health sciences. JCT’s mission is to produce leaders who are strongly committe

d to Israel, Jewish values, to our People and to mankind. JCT and its Role in Society
In addition to educating Israel’s most academically qualified students, JCT also enables diverse segments of society to become productive members of Israel's workforce, including many who would otherwise not have the opportunity to pursue academic studies. Our "Education for Ethiopians" with 125 students and 128 graduates and the Haredi (Ultra-Orthodox) programs with over 2000 students, provide customized remedial training, enabling adults with only a grade-school education to become college-competent in 16 months. Advanced engineering programs for women are another example of JCT’s unique academic offerings. JCT and the Israeli Economy
R&D is a critical part of JCT and has led to major advances in fields ranging from cyber security to medical technology and driving safety. The College plays a leading role in developing Israel's overall economic infrastructure, and that of Jerusalem in particular. JCT alumni and faculty have established over 100 hi-tech companies, including some of Jerusalem’s largest. JCT and the IDF
JCT alumni play a prominent role in the IDF. Their strong sense of purpose motivates them to fulfill a crucial role in hi-tech support units and combat field units. While security considerations preclude our providing specific details about these military projects, JCT alumni and faculty, including women alumna of the Tal and Lustig Institutes, have spearheaded projects critically important to Israel's national security, receiving prestigious awards for excellence from the IDF Chief of Staff and Ministry of Defense. Today, on Yom HaShoah, we remember.

We remember six million murdered Jews. We stand with the survivors and their families who carry the weight of memory. We remember and will never forget.

At the Jerusalem College of Technology, remembrance is not only about the past—it’s a responsibility to the present and a charge to future generations.

Ori Kessler, a JCT student and grandson of Holocaust survivor Michael Bar-On, carries that responsibility forward. In response to growing antisemitism online, Ori developed “SAVEE,” an online tool that helps users counter hate with facts. He also helped create a platform that shares survivor testimonies in short, accessible videos—preserving memory for the next generation.

“We can’t change the past,” Ori says, “but we can shape how it’s remembered—and how we respond to hate today.”

Breaking Stereotypes, Building Futures 👩‍🔬🥼

"The ability of Haredi women to break the glass ceiling in science depends on the general population moving beyond stereotypes."

These powerful words come from Dr. Hadass Tischler, Haredi AI researcher, Neuroscience PhD, mother of 6, and computer science lecturer at Jerusalem College of Technology.

Featured recently in , Dr. Tischler shares how Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) women are excelling in STEM fields thanks to strong seminary education and determination. She mentors numerous Haredi students at JCT, helping them navigate both academic success and workplace challenges.

🎓 From Homeschool to High-Tech: Meet Eliyahu Masinter, who, at 16, left Baltimore to pursue his dreams at the Jerusalem College of Technology.

Without speaking Hebrew or having visited Israel before, Eliyahu took a leap of faith that transformed his life. Today, this JCT student is revolutionizing education technology with his startup ScheduLearn - an AI-powered solution helping schools optimize their scheduling systems.

Compassion in Action 💙🏅

At last week's graduation ceremony for nursing students at the 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐦𝐚 𝐉𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐤 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠, we proudly celebrated 130 new nursing graduates—women who embody professionalism, care, and dedication. One of them, Odelia Ross, received the 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐍. 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 for special contribution to the class and nursing program in general, recognizing her exceptional commitment to her patients.

But Odelia's devotion goes far beyond the hospital walls. In the wake of the tragic events of October 7th, she volunteered with United Hatzalah, courageously entering a conflict zone to help identify a fallen soldier. 𝐈𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐲, 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝—to help, to comfort, and to act with unwavering bravery.

In these challenging times, American Jews are showing their unwavering support for Israel, one purchase at a time. A recent study by Business Management students at Jerusalem College of Technology’s (JCT) Tal Campus for women reveals a remarkable 134% increase in Judaica purchases—a true testament to solidarity with Israeli merchants during wartime.

According to JNS.org, this research, led by lecturer Limor Hatsor, highlights how American Jews are choosing to support Israel despite higher prices for Israeli-made Judaica compared to similar items available in the U.S. This surge in purchases shows a commitment to backing Israeli businesses and artisans, effectively creating an economic bridge of support.

At JCT, we’re proud of our students’ work uncovering this powerful trend. Our graduates in business, engineering, and computer science continue to impact Israel’s industries and the global market, carrying forward this spirit of resilience and unity.

Sending Off Our Torah MiTzion Emissaries with Pride ✈️🌍

JCT hosted a special event to bid farewell to Torah MiTzion emissaries embarking on global missions. These committed individuals are heading to communities around the world to tackle rising antisemitism and promote Jewish identity in places like New Haven, Kansas City, and Cape Town.

Daniel "Doni" Fogel, our VP, shared words of encouragement with the emissaries: "You will encounter both assimilation and real antisemitism. Your mission is to instill pride in our Jewish identity and encourage Aliyah."

Zeev Schwartz, CEO of Torah MiTzion, also spoke about the critical work ahead: "Our emissaries work against assimilation and strengthen Jewish communities, showing that Israel is the home of the Jewish people."

We are immensely proud of these representatives and wish them strength and success in their missions. May they make a meaningful impact wherever they go, and return in peace.

In Memory of Prof. Joseph Bodenheimer z”l 🕯️

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Prof. Joseph Bodenheimer z”l, who served as President of the Jerusalem College of Technology (JCT) from 1993 to 2009. Prof. Bodenheimer was not just a leader; he was a visionary who profoundly shaped the future of our institution.

During his 16 years as President, Prof. Bodenheimer’s dedication and insight were instrumental in expanding JCT's academic offerings, particularly in the fields of engineering and technology. His steadfast commitment to integrating rigorous academics with religious values set a standard that continues to guide our mission today.

Professor Chaim Sukenik, JCT’s current President, reflected on this tremendous loss: “Professor Bodenheimer z”l was involved with the Jerusalem College of Technology – Lev Academic Center (JCT) for over five decades. He provided inspiring leadership as a founding faculty member, department chair, rector, and president. The leadership of the college, along with its faculty, alumni, and students, mourn the passing of a friend and mentor whose contributions to JCT and the State of Israel are too numerous to list. His memory will forever be a blessing."

Prof. Bodenheimer’s legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched—students, faculty, and the entire JCT community. His work has laid the foundation for future generations to thrive both academically and spiritually, ensuring that JCT remains a beacon of excellence and faith.

As we remember Prof. Bodenheimer, our thoughts and prayers are with his family. We will forever honor his memory and the indelible impact he made on our institution and the broader community.
