Metro’s educational program is designed to provide a variety of learning options to meet the Cedar Rapids School District’s graduation requirements. Our guiding philosophy is contained in our name:

The heart of Metro is the advisor/advisee system. Each teacher serves as an advisor for 15 – 20 students. The advisor is an advocate for their student’s educational program. The advisor system is designed to provide maximum support to the student and assistance to the parents/guardians. The goal of the Metro social media page is to share important news and celebrate the achievements of our students and staff with the community, fostering an open and respectful dialogue. To maintain a positive environment, please adhere to these guidelines. We reserve the right to delete submissions that contain: vulgar language; personal attacks of any kind; sexually suggestive or flirtatious dialogue; offensive comments that target or disparage any ethnic, racial, religious, or other protected group; postings that promote illicit, illegal, or unethical activity; or postings that communicate confidential information about students, staff, or school operations. This page is for open conversation about the school—not personal issues. It is not intended to circumvent regular communication channels; therefore, comments regarding a personal issue with the school, a specific class, or a staff member will be removed. Be respectful: personal attacks or comments deemed offensive to any member of our community will not be tolerated. Additionally, please stay on topic; this page is dedicated to the education and events of Metro, so keep the conversation relevant to our school. Do not use this site for commercial purposes, like running for office or selling products, or to link to other pages or post spam. Finally, remember that the school's mission is education, so be certain your comments are appropriate for an educational environment and fans of all ages, and be factual—blatantly inaccurate information will be removed. Abuse of these guidelines can lead to removal of a specific posting or the blocking and removal from the page.
