Our hearts are heavy as we continue to mourn the loss of our dear teammate, Cathy Meyer.

Cathy was a special part of the St. Matthew Early Learning Center family. Her impact on our children and our families will not be forgotten, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

We are grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support shown to our staff and to Cathy's family during this difficult time. We invite you to continue keeping Cathy and all who loved her in your prayers.

Over this past weekend, our Xavier Catholic Schools family experienced the loss of our friend and colleague, Cathy Meyer.

Cathy was a cherished member of our St. Matthew Elementary & ELC early learning community, where she faithfully cared for young children, supported families, and built meaningful relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. She also served where she was needed across other XCS early learning centers.

Her kindness, compassion, community impact, advocacy for our youngest learners, and unwavering commitment to our mission touched countless lives -- and her legacy will continue to be felt throughout our entire community.

As we remember Cathy, we ask that you keep her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her in your prayers.

"Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace."

As priests across Iowa begin their new assignments this week, we want to take a moment to thank the following priests from our local parishes who have impacted Xavier Catholic Schools in an 'Xtraordinary way and will be serving in pastorates outside the Cedar Rapids Metro area.
