We had a great time welcoming the Xavier High School football team, cheerleaders, and band to St. Matthew last week for their Homecoming Tour!

We celebrated our first Mass today, and we were so blessed to have all three of our pastors join us to celebrate and introduce themselves to the students.

For those of you who were in our school this past week, you may have noticed some much needed upgrades around our building. These include new bleachers in the gym, new finish on our gym floor, a new double-door access to a space that will now serve as storage for chairs, new tile and lighting in our new art room downstairs, a new roof, and new mulch on our playground. We’d like to give a mighty mighty Jaguar-sized THANK YOU to our ‘Xceptional maintenance team from all around the Xavier Catholic Schools system who pitched in to make these upgrades happen over the summer — including working many nights, weekends, and even over the 4th of July holiday. A special shout out to our own Mr. Nick Perkins who continues to be an incredible addition to our St. Matthew team. Make sure to tell “Mr. Nick” (and any of our XCS Maintenance crew members) “thank you” if you see them around!

MEET OUR NEW TEACHER: OLIVIA BERLINGERI (Special Education)

We’re thrilled to welcome Olivia Berlingeri to the St. Matthew family as our new Special Education teacher!

Ms. Berlingeri comes to us from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School in Colorado, where she served as both a classroom teacher and learning specialist. She is passionate about creating positive, inclusive classrooms where every student is supported, challenged and encouraged to reach their full potential.

MEET OUR NEW TEACHER: KATIE CALLAHAN (Junior Kindergarten)

We’re excited to welcome Ms. Callahan to the St. Matthew family as our new Junior Kindergarten teacher!

A 2026 graduate of Loras College, Ms. Callahan earned her degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in Reading and Instructional Strategy. She brings experience in kindergarten, special education and Catholic school classrooms, along with a passion for building strong relationships and creating engaging learning experiences for young students.
