Happy B-Day Temple Grandin! Hardly seems enough to say, "You Rock!", but somehow it says it all on so many levels. I've seen you speak four times, but getting to hang out with you for an hour or so at this last conference was the privilege of a lifetime. Had no idea I would get to be the "official" photographer for those wishing to capture that special moment as you offered empathy, advice, and encouragement to them in their personal journeys. Needless to say, I smiled a lot that day as your presence brought hope to so many :-)

Sending out positive vibes today to my first client of the summer as he completes his initial round of audiological testing. You are a ROCK STAR and will do great today! So looking forward to spending time with you these next few weeks and seeing how Berard AIT helps you open doors to all kinds of new possibilities :-)

Whew! Coming off a whirlwind of excitement after yesterday's trip to Davenport for the Scott County Kids "Smashing Stigmas through Hope and Opportunity" conference. One of the best parts of events like these are networking with so many incredible people that, together, seem to exponentially be making the world a better place. I'm never disappointed and always feel full of hope when I leave :-) Already busy planning for my first Berard AIT group session in the Quad Cities this summer! It's going to be a busy, but incredible time full of many memorable moments. I can't wait!

So I am just finally coming down off my natural high after yesterday's "Together We Can" event in Des Moines :-) Thank you so much to the crew at ASK Resource for putting together such a phenomenal event. So many inspiring conversations with individuals with disabilities, parents, and professionals doing amazing things to change the world. I especially appreciate all the freely shared ideas and resources that will enable me to contribute my small part as I work to make Berard Auditory Integration Training accessible to folks in the great state of Iowa. It was heartwarming to see all the excitement over AIT, something that so dramatically changed my son's life and gave me a professional purpose beyond anything I could have imagined when first starting out twelve years ago. Props to everyone involved! Looking forward to a kinder, more supportive and empowering world for the differently abled in the years ahead :-)
